Gossip Girl S&S #676: Everything goes down at J's birthday party except for actual celebration of her birthday.

Welcome to the Gossip Girl spoiler and speculation thread, feel free to post about any upcoming story-line and discuss it with the other people in here. We urge you to not bash the actors nor the users because it's not allowed by the rules, but anything else with a good argument is welcomed.

This means that, if the Spoilers Board Moderators have to come in with four official warnings about any issue whatsoever, within 24 hours or so, then that particular thread will be temporarily closed. The duration of closure is subject to the Spoilers Board Moderators' discretion. Upon re-opening of the temporarily closed thread, said thread will be closed again if any warnings are given within 24-48 hours of the reopening. Chuck Bass is having trouble dealing with the mystery that was his father and the way in which his spare time was managed.
Nate Archibald catches Vanessa flirting with another guy, and at a moment of desperation, reluctantly turns to Blair for help.
Dan Humphrey purposely ignores Serena's calls and tells Miss Carr that things are beyond complicated between the two of them. Meanwhile, Miss Carr chooses not to take her job back at Constance and spends most of her time in an empty apartment with her new fling, who doesn't seem to be quite grieving from his recent break-up.
At the same time, Lily and Rufus question where their relationship is going and talk casually about merging their households. Chuck however, is against the idea, and does everything in his power to stop it.

Kristin said what?:
- The plan is to have the love child be a major character next season.
- Message from Vanessa to Blair: "What goes around, comes around."
- Nate and Blair will seek comfort in each other's mouths.
- Dan and Serena will continue to go in circle for a few episodes before Dan gets involved with the teacher.
- Nate and Vanessa will be going strong. She will help him a bit with the Chuck situation.
- CB are done for now. They will be attending 3 different colleges.
- RL are triggering Kristin's morning sickness. No CB-officialness this season.
- Money problems for Rufus. Poppy coming back for Serena.

Ausiello scoops:
Exclusive: 'Gossip Girl' spots Anne Hathaway-inspired plot | Gossip Girl | Ausiello Files | EW.com
- Stephanie Savage says that even though Nate and Blair "look really cute together kissing in the snow," Chuck and Blair fans should still "hang in there."
- Nate gets a rich, married, Vanderbilt cousin in his 20s.
- Serena and Anne Hathaway will have something in common.
- Lily and Rufus' love child will appear on the show in April or May.
- The show is casting the possibly recurring role of an "unassumingly cute" 16-year-old male. Sounds like Jenny's getting a new suitor!
- Gossip Girl will have 25 episodes this season!

Interviews:
- - According to Korbi, Nate and Blair will be but a blip on the GG timeline.
- - Photographer Patrick McMullan will have a cameo in a future episode.
- - SpoilerTV says: They are casting for a dashing socialite male in his 20s. He will be on the show from 2.20 - 2.24.
- - According to Stephanie: Dan and Blair will play each other's love interests, and Serena will have a big story line at the end of the season that will include one of Blair's biggest foes.
- - According to Stephanie: They will be doing prom and graduation. Georgina is coming back near the end of the season.
- - According to Stephanie Savage: Vanessa will go to college; Nate and Blair will continue to be friends; Dan and Blair will star in a school play together; Nate will feel a pull towards " the people he started his journey with" and surprising feelings will come to the surface.
- - According to Josh: "Certain times a situation is so dire that it requires the assistance of even your most sworn enemy. It just might come to pass that Serena and Blair find themselves in a situation where they have no recourse other than to recruit Georgina Sparks."
- - According to josh: Dan and Serena's secret half-brother again. (I'd explain the previous sentence more fully but it would take up way too much space).
Schwartz did say that Michelle Trachtenberg would be back around April and May as troublemaker Georgina Sparks, and Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) would remain at the forefront of the show.
"We get that that [relationship] works for people," Schwartz said with a laugh.
He also noted that many of the show's teen characters "graduate at the end of this year -- that's going to be a very big deal and it will shape direction of the show heading into Season 3."

Magazines:
- - According to New York Magazine:
Adam Green and the Misshapes make a cameo appearance at a party Serena throws for Little J, where the two girls get into a fight.
Next season will be college, but some characters won't be attending.

Unknown/Other sources, but reliable, nonetheless:
- Dashing young man being cast for episodes 20-24. (Source: SpoilerTv)

Why should N apologize? How about cause he was a judgemental ass! He was COMPLETELY out of line. Who is he to judge?! Didn't he have sex with his girlfriend's best friend? Didn't he have an affair with a married woman? Uh huh.
Just because Nate has done things that are wrong doesn't mean he forfeits the right to think that things other people do might be wrong.

It was simply EASIER to yell at Jenny and go with Vanessa than have to deal with everything he was feeling and all the obstacles they would have to deal with in order to be together. Nate took the easy way out. Nothing else will EVER convince me of that.
And nothing will ever convince me that Nate was taking the easy way out by ditching Jenny. Not until he says those words himself onscreen.

well, it could be a way to end the JB sl, AND the NB sl because i mean, if Nate blurts out the ONE secret she never wanted to hurt Chuck w/ to CHUCK of all people, I think she'd be done w/ him..

That still wouldn't have any impact. Why should Chuck care that B banged his uncle when he has already lost her to Nate for good, in his mind at least. It's like adding injury to a limb that doesn't exist. Like breaking a leg that is already amputated...
Maybe Chuck would care if it turned out that Jack did something to Blair that she did not want. Or that she was too vulnerable to stop. Or that it wasn't sexual, and he just took her to the hospital because she had some kind of bulimia-related breakdown.

well, what if he did something to her, or tried to, and she just really didn't want to tell him and get him in an even worse mental state because of his dad's death. Because...i mean, the only reason she still talked to Jack was to find Chuck, and then she was done w/ him......and maybe Nate blurts it out when Blair never wants him to...and then that starts the CB thing. She could ditch Nate after pulling a stunt like that.
I still don't see how it would affect CB. For Chuck's growth he has to give NB his blessing and walk away, and if Blair banged his uncle then so what. All he can do is cry about it in his sleep if he wasn't already over losing her for good.

When Vanessa admitted to taking the letter and broke up with Nate, that was when Jenny was given her chance. He had all the facts as to why he heard nothing from Jenny yet he was saddened because Vanessa was leaving him. And then Jenny decided to eff things up for herself and show how petty she can be. That showed Nate how immature she was and that he didn't want her. He wanted Vanessa. He didn't chose V because there was no one else. He chose her because he wanted to be with her. If he didn't actually care for Vanessa, we wouldn't be seeing them giggling and happy right now. People seriously need to get over this "He chose her because he couldn't have anyone else." It's a blatant lie.
SO MUCH WORD, bb! You are so brilliant. Your mind is full of wisdom.

exactly...and it could knock out the JB sl AND the NB sl w/ one stone....because i wouldn't want to be w/ someone who i confided in about something very personal, and they blurted it out to the one person i was trying to keep it a secret from in the first place.

Judging by the filming pics there is no way this is the story for 2.20. Maybe somewhere down the line, but at this point of the story I doubt it.

and again all of this has like half the impact it would if CB were sharing more scenes in the episode and NB not having 5-6 scenes and basically being all up each other.

It could be a catalyst that makes Chuck realize that when he left Blair like that, he left her in a really vulnerable position. He knows his actions have hurt her, but he doesn't know how much. It could be enough to make him go to her and tell her he loves her.

Of course, letting her go be with Nate would allow Blair to come back to him on her own. But the fangirl in me wants Chuck to do something semi-epic, not just "go, my beloved, be with another. for your sake, my love." Even though I still want that, lol.

Well, it can affect CB but not necessarily in a negative way. It can be the secret that opens up the communication between the two - and they can start acknowledging each other. And maybe Chuck being there for Blair?

but i mean, the writers pull stunts as ridiculous as that all the time. Chuck may not give NB his blessing because he loves Blair, and N is supposed to be his best friend
