Gossip Girl S&S #671: How to deal with an ex - star in a play with them, or attend their parties with someone new.

Welcome to the Gossip Girl spoiler and speculation thread, feel free to post about any upcoming story-line and discuss it with the other people in here. We urge you to not bash the actors nor the users because it's not allowed by the rules, but anything else with a good argument is welcomed.

The duration of closure is subject to the Spoilers Board Moderators' discretion. Upon re-opening of the temporarily closed thread, said thread will be closed again if any warnings are given within 24-48 hours of the reopening. Dan Humphrey purposely ignores Serena's calls and tells Miss Carr that things are beyond complicated between the two of them. Meanwhile, Miss Carr chooses not to take her job back at Constance and spends most of her time in an empty apartment with her new fling, who doesn't seem to be quite grieving from his recent break-up.

Kristin said what?:
- A huge core couple will get back together unexpectedly and it's guaranteed to make you cry.
- The love child will come back late season 2 or early season 3.
- Dan and Serena will continue to go in circle for a few episodes before Dan gets involved with the teacher.
- Nate and Vanessa will be going strong. She will help him a bit with the Chuck situation.
- CB are done for now. They will be attending 3 different colleges.
- RL are triggering Kristin's morning sickness. No CB-officialness this season.
- Money problems for Rufus. Poppy coming back for Serena.

Ausiello scoops:
Exclusive: 'Gossip Girl' spots Anne Hathaway-inspired plot | Gossip Girl | Ausiello Files | EW.com
- Stephanie Savage says that even though Nate and Blair "look really cute together kissing in the snow," Chuck and Blair fans should still "hang in there."
- Nate gets a rich, married, Vanderbilt cousin in his 20s.
- Serena and Anne Hathaway will have something in common.
- Lily and Rufus' love child will appear on the show in April or May.
- The show is casting the possibly recurring role of an "unassumingly cute" 16-year-old male. Sounds like Jenny's getting a new suitor!
- Gossip Girl will have 25 episodes this season!

Interviews:
- - According to Korbi, Nate and Blair will be but a blip on the GG timeline.
- - Photographer Patrick McMullan will have a cameo in a future episode.
- - SpoilerTV says: They are casting for a dashing socialite male in his 20s. He will be on the show from 2.20 - 2.24.
- - According to Stephanie: Dan and Blair will play each other's love interests, and Serena will have a big story line at the end of the season that will include one of Blair's biggest foes.
- - According to Stephanie: They will be doing prom and graduation. Georgina is coming back near the end of the season.
- - According to Stephanie Savage: Vanessa will go to college; Nate and Blair will continue to be friends; Dan and Blair will star in a school play together; Nate will feel a pull towards " the people he started his journey with" and surprising feelings will come to the surface.
- - According to Josh: "Certain times a situation is so dire that it requires the assistance of even your most sworn enemy. It just might come to pass that Serena and Blair find themselves in a situation where they have no recourse other than to recruit Georgina Sparks."
- - According to josh: Dan and Serena's secret half-brother again. (I'd explain the previous sentence more fully but it would take up way too much space).
Schwartz did say that Michelle Trachtenberg would be back around April and May as troublemaker Georgina Sparks, and Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) would remain at the forefront of the show.
"We get that that [relationship] works for people," Schwartz said with a laugh.
He also noted that many of the show's teen characters "graduate at the end of this year -- that's going to be a very big deal and it will shape direction of the show heading into Season 3."

Magazines:
- - According to New York Magazine:
Next season will be college, but some characters won't be attending.
Lily will not be pregnant.

Unknown/Other sources, but reliable, nonetheless:
- Dashing young man being cast for episodes 20-24. (Source: SpoilerTv)

Not to me. Nate's ring is an heirloom and pricey. Chuck's ring is gonna be materialistically cheap (worth 10 grand at the most). For Blair to accept Chuck's ring and forever wear it and show it off to other UES with pride and joy it's the ultimate growth. Blair would literally see the value of the ring as the value of Chuck's love for his parents and for her, and if she accepts it this ring means so much more than Nate's ever could.
So much word, Anita. Chuck's ring would be all about Chuck's love for her and a lovely way to bring his mom back into the story line. It would even be the perfect parallel to them, since Nate's ring was about trying to break away from his family's wishes and represented everything Nate didn't about being with Blair (feeling trapped, familial obligations, this idea of marriage pressed upon them at so young an age...)

I just don't want CB Audrey moments because visually it's confusing.

The only Audrey related thing I want is for them to have Chuck's mom to have been related to Audrey's mother's side of the family, or for B to comment on C and AH being identical and dream about having AH look alike daughters.

I know. That's why I think it would be sweet if there was an homage to an Audrey movie - not Blair outright going 'THIS IS JUST LIKE BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S', but just something that implicitly references it. Because up until now all of them HAVE been nightmares, so I think it would be coming around if something actually happened like it's 'supposed to' for her, in actual real life. To me that would reinforce the point that her real life is preferable to all of her fantasies/nightmares , which is what I choose to believe her arc this season is about.

How bout Blair telling Chuck that their Audrey look-alike daughters are gonna have the perfect life?

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't see it as original. I would see it as a purposeful callback to season one and the Nate ring, only to turn it around and now have the ring mean everything that Blair really wants and everything that's right in the CB relationship, rather than what was wrong in the NB one back then.

EXACTLY. The story of the two rings tell the story of the two relationships and their distinctions.

It's like her relationship with Nate vs her relationship with Chuck. On the outside her and Nate are perfect, she orders him around and acts like a dutiful wife and he keeps his mouth shut and his head down. With Chuck though the outside is messy, there is so much turmoil, it's a complete mess. But deep inside the connection btw CB is perfect, and that's something NB are missing. Sorta like how Chuck's ring doesn't look perfect, but it means what a wedding ring should, while Nate's ring does not.

Hate double posting

Don Draper made Betty cry! This should be punishable by law.

There is no spoiler about a ring. Only speculation about CB's reunion.

And we assume that if Chuck gave Blair a ring, it would be the same ring his father gave his mother. And his father made his fortune less than 20 years ago, so we assume he was still not wealthy when he gave it to Evelyn.
