Thanks for the new thread!
And can we please stop commenting on who others should like? Some people like Blair, some like Serena, some like both! It's all fine. |

Anyway, for me the Nate debate as always come down to this: sell your character. If the roles were reversed and Ed was playing Nate and vice-versa I might be a Nate fan, because I need a strong portrayal to sympathize with the character or to enjoy them. Sorry for the long post, but as someone who has never read the books and is not a fan of Chace or Ed particularly that's how I see it. |

I completly agree with who said this...the prequel was completly thrown together and from what i read in all the other books nate and blair were true loves...well the very last few were pretty bad but i think they were just running out of ideas..newayI love chuck and blair...heck i loved chuck in the pilot. Im not saying i ageee with what he was doing but there are alot of guys in high school that will try to force themselves on girls esp if they think no one will know (jenny) or that the girl is a **** (serena). which obv serena isnt a **** but im just saying the idea of chuck doing what he did isnt that ridic and he didnt rape anyone so as far as im concerned hes not a rapist.... __________________

I mean, I enjoyed the books at first, but when I'm going to read something more than 100pages, I don't want to read trash. That's why they were a guilty pleasure. There's only so much I can take. The Gossip Girl books were fun, but after awhile, they're empty, shallow, and then it just feels like you're watching a scripted reality show. People/characters are being conducted to do things that compromise why we love and sympathize them in the first place just for the sake of drama. |

The books got so bad after awhile, and no, Cecilly was not always writing. It was mostly ghostwriters.

That's why I like the show so much better. They take the heart of the characters and manage to make their stories witty, fun, and dramatic w/out being too heavy.

MAY I HAVE THIS DANCE? — Serena (Blake Lively) has absolutely no intention of attending the upcoming Debutante Ball, until her grandmother, CeCe (guest star Caroline Lagerfelt), announces that she won’t take no for an answer. Unfortunately, Dan (Penn Badgley) isn’t exactly what CeCe had in mind in terms of a suitable escort for Serena, and she makes her opinion heard loud and clear, causing a riff between Serena and Dan. Although they are officially broken up, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Nate (Chace Crawford) decide to go to the ball together as friends, but a jealous Nate begins to suspect that Blair may already be seeing someone else. Jenny (Taylor Momsen) finds herself torn between attending her mother’s (guest star Susan Misner) art opening or following her dreams to the Debutante Ball, even though it’s against her parents’ wishes. Finally, Rufus (Matthew Settle) learns the real reason Lily (Kelly Rutherford) broke up with him all those years ago. Ed Westwick also stars. The episode was directed by Patrick Norris and written by Joshua Safron (#109). for those of you have read the sides....is anyone thinking that chuck is going to try and convince nate that blair is hooking up with carter in order to tear them apart???? I really hope thats what it is i cant wait for this epp its gonna be STELLAR! __________________

What I was trying to say was that it's frustrating that people will hate on Nate no matter what it is. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, you know? He's an ass because he doesn't love Blair, and then people are on his case because he discovers he does care for her and gets mad when Chuck sleeps with her. Anyway, I'm kind of sick of talking about this. __________________
