KATE GIVES AN OLD CLASSMATE A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE WHILE TRYING TO DEFEND A WEALTHY CLIENT'S RIGHTS AFTER HE ADMITS TO AN AFFAIR WITH HIS HOT NANNY; CHARISMA CARPENTER GUEST STARS -- Charisma Carpenter ("Angel") guest stars as Serena Lockner, a former high school classmate of Kate's (Alicia Silverstone) who comes to her looking for relationship advice. Kate is hesitant to help her at first because of their history together, but in the end acquiesces after Serena convinces her that she is a changed person, genuinely interested in finding the right person. After one botched attempt and a bit of coaching, Kate sets Serena up with Michael (David Conrad) and they, to Kate's surprise seem to be hitting it off, that is until Kate and her chiropractor friend Dean (Johnny Snead) go out with them on a double date and Serena's true colors are revealed. In the midst of all this, Kate is also embroiled in a nasty divorce proceeding involving a businessman whose wife is claiming that the pre-nuptial agreement they signed is void because he slept with the "hot nanny." Although it seems at first like a pretty straightforward case, Nick (James Roday) charms some very valuable information out of the Nanny (Rachel Shelley), giving Kate and Jerry (Ryan O'Neal) some inside information when they take the case to court. OUT OF TOWN: NBC is overhauling its struggling Friday night lineup, and that's bad news for fans of Boomtown. The network is pulling the critically acclaimed drama off the air and replacing it with reruns of Law & Order: SVU. Also, "Miss Match is shifting to 9 pm" , where it will follow a repeat of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy this week and Dateline next week.

NBC Shuffles Fridays to Save 'Miss Match'

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - It took only two weeks for NBC to realize that Alicia Silverstone looking for love was no match for Amber Tamblyn looking for God. After watching CBS' "Joan of Arcadia" crush Silverstone's "Miss Match" in consecutive weeks, NBC has juggled its Friday night schedule to give the dramedy some breathing room.

For at least the next three weeks, NBC will move "Miss Match" from 8 to 9 p.m. ET. The move will allow the freshman romantic-comedy/legal-drama to face off against CBS' "JAG," rather than "Arcadia." Presumably the military series will provide less direct competition for the young female viewers NBC craves.

This Friday (Oct. 10), NBC will fill the 8 p.m. slot with a repeat of Bravo's popular "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," which had some success as a repurposed NBC series during the summer. In the next two weeks, though, the 8 p.m. hour will go to "Dateline NBC," which had previously been airing at 9 p.m.

The schedule will also change at 10 p.m. where NBC will replace the struggling "Boomtown" with repeats of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Boomtown is officially just going on a three week hiatus and will return to the NBC schedule, though not necessarily on Friday nights.
"Miss Match," from "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star, premiered to disappointing numbers and sunk even further in its second week. Last week, the Silverstone vehicle, among the network's most heavily promoted shows of the new season, was No. 79 in primetime with just over 5.9 million viewers (compared to "Joan of Arcadia" at No. 24 with nearly 12.5 million viewers). Those numbers, while unimpressive, were solidly down from the show's premiere episode, which drew over 7.6 million.

New time slot, me like. The show was getting slaughtered by 'Joan of Arcadia' so NBC is making a good move, even though it shouldn't be on Fridays to begin with. Hopefully ratings will be better with the move ... [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I'm glad they moved it because now I can watch Joan and Miss Match.

I love Miss Match. Alicia is great in it and I think Kate&Michael belong together.

Love the show, but it's getting clobbered in the ratings. I heard that it only scored a 4.2 when it aired an hour later. I don't know if NBC is going to stick with the show much longer with ratings like that. [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

Yes she is suppose to. No one knows what episode she will guest star on, but she does start filming the episode on November 6th. Heres the link to where I got it from

So is this show not cancelled then. I really loved it and am a big Silverstone fan, so really hope it does well.
