She was obviously close to Casey even if feelings were involved. Shay was her BFF but I get the vibes that they were and are all a big family and they're all close. And this season we saw that she and Brett got really close and she was like a surrogate for Shay in Dawson's life. Plus, she and Severide have a major bond now.
