I really have no idea. The thing is comic readers may know this but casual moviegoers will not. I myself am not well-versed with the comics so what I find out surprises me. It seems to me Peter doesn't know that Erik is his dad (in DOFP) and if I didn't know their relation, I would just think they're acquaintance. Maybe a future X-Men movie may get this reveal soon as not all moviegoers are comic readers.
