Parkland gets worldwide distribution, so other countries will be able to see it.

Exclusive Media has closed deals for several markets for its JFK assassination drama "Parkland," including a multi-territory deal with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.

"Parkland," the directorial debut of scribe Peter Landesman, began lensing Jan. 25 in Austin, Texas. The pic is named for Parkland Memorial Hospital where President John F. Kennedy was rushed on Nov. 22, 1963, and later pronounced dead.

Exclusive Media has licensed all rights to SPWA for Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Iceland, Greece, Turkey and Latin America.

In addition, Australia and New Zealand sold to Roadshow, France to Metropolitan, Italy to RAI, Israel to United King, Hong Kong to Golden Harvest, India and Pakistan to Tanweer, Indonesia to PT Amero, the Philippines to Captive, Singapore to Golden Village, Taiwan to Catchplay, Thailand to M Pictures and The Baltic States to ACME.

"Parkland's" ensemble cast includes Zac Efron, Marcia Gay Harden, Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Jeremy Strong, Jacki Weaver, Jackie Earle Haley, Colin Hanks and Ron Livingston.

Variety first reported on Aug. 16 that Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman had come on board to produce "Parkland." Exclusive Media joined in October as a producer and financer with toppers Nigel Sinclair and Guy East producing. Bill Paxton is also producing. The American Film Co. will co-finance with Exclusive.

"Parkland" chronicles the events leading up to JFK's assassination. Landesman's adapted screenplay is based on Vincent Bugliosi's "Reclaiming History: The Assassination of John F. Kennedy."

The film is set for a domestic release to coincide with the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination. Open Road is reported to be talks for domestic rights.

The deal was negotiated by Exclusive's Alex Walton, Michael Helfand, Joe Matukewicz, and Jon Freedberg of SPWA.

Walton said Exclusive is working with the distribution partners on a worldwide release strategy to coincide with the Nov. 22 anniversary.
