Haha. Bella's mum isn't exactly gorgeous either. 
I've only seen "Waynes World" once (at the pictures) so I don't remember that servo scene...but how you've described it, it does fit with "YA". Thankfully they changed the actors!!!
We deserve the DVD because after 5 years, only getting 8 episodes we're still discussing the show!!!
