I almost have to wonder though...
What if DRahl had presented himself to Cara earlier in the season, would she have been so loyal to Richard?
I mean, she is bound to the Rahl line, which first meant Darken Rahl. So what she had known that his spirit was working for the Keeper, and against Richard...would she have been so keen to follow Richard instead?
