Like I feel as if they see them as way more secondary to the main plot as it should be. But I mean at the same time there’s not a lot of episodes left of the series to play around that much. But you’re right about how it’s kind of weird that Steve is still hung up on Nancy and there were few weird moments along with the fighting and distance between Nancy and Jonathan.
Which is why I say this. Nancy/Jon were together in season 2/3 and 4. But season 3 was showing them growing apart. We dont have enough time IMO to break them up and put them back together. So either they break up for good, or they stay together the rest of the time. (again, unless there is a time jump which imo would be silly to slap them together in the time jump. putting her back with steve in the time jump i could see)

These are the possible scenarios I see:
-Steve/Nancy continue to dance around, her and Jon eventually break up. She gets with Steve in the time jump. In this scenario, Jonathan could die.
-Steve/Nancy continue to dance around, but ultimately decide they are better as firends or that Nancy is still in love with Jon. Steve could potentially die in this scenario.
-Steve/Nancy dance around each other, J/N decide to remain friends and break up. But then S/N also doesnt work out in the finale and they all remain single and friends.

I mean, thats basically any possible scenario, so anything can happen lol. But either way I think they aer going to explore steve/nancy more. They cant just drop it completely after last season, that would be so weird. But i agree it also doesnt make sense to build n/j as the main pairing for two seasons just to break them up??? So i really have clue. (this would not be the first time tho that a season 1 otp didnt end up together- looking at you stelena and djo)

because there is so little time it doesnt make sense to me to throw those steve/nancy hints in. They could have kept ehir season 4 scenes one sided, or platonic. But we saw clear signs that Nancy still liked him. And it was in every episode starting in episode 3, not just 1 or 2 moments, it was closer to like 6 moments. So, that is why I am hesitant to believe that nothing will come of it. It wouldnt make sense to me.

I do agree that the writers mostly see the ships as secondary to the plot but also not really because they literally ALL have couples? Like, that is a lot of romance on the side lmao. So its obvious they carea bout the romance aspect of the show as well. But, maybe they are only doing these s/n scenes to give them final closure as well as the fans. Thats what i am hoping at least. Please let me know if you see spoilers either way because I want to know before going in whether im going to be disapppointed or not.

I hope the spoilers you mentioned are true but we also dont have 100 CLEAR FACTS that they are even real spoilers. I also have literally always been right predicting endgames for shows. Rarely have I been wrong, so lol. Not to toot my own horn but if we do get S/N endgame I will be saying "i told you so!" ugh. I hope I am wrong here though.

There are so many pairings and Ive seen fans of all of them 100% confident that their pairing is going to be endgame and I have to laugh because someone is going to be disaappointed. I have a feeling the will/mike fans are going to be extremely disappointed with the outcome. They are already claiming "queer bait" which is actually a joke.

Yeah im not sure what part of Stranger Things is a "hot mess" its actually one of the best TV series out there IMO. So well done, so much drama, it continues to build... its fantastic.

Steve is amazing. He's my favorite character along with Hopper and Dustin. But I really love them all.
