I mean for me they are kinda canon, ships have been considered canon for less. Halbrand wells up in front of her, clearly asks her to become his Queen, what else should he do, try a kiss? lol And now this season that they have separate arcs, they still think about each other, Galadriel especially does to a tormenting degree. The fact that it's described as a 'cosmic connection' and not romance makes sense, it's a fantasy series, Sauron is a higher being, and the equivalent to deep human feelings and codependency would be adjusted in his case. Also, their not ending up together or Sauron's having ulterior motives again don't take away from the canonicity of the ship.


And I agree, we need that glimpse of 'what if' Like, I kinda do think Middle Earth might have had a chance
