Both Going Home (which I'm just about to finish) and The Final Battle end with characters having their lives disrupted by characters they don't recognize (in Going Home, the scenario is Emma and Henry having Hook disrupt their lives, and in The Final Battle, the scenario is Henry having Lucy disrupt his life).

The two scenarios also mirror the scene in the Pilot of Henry showing up in Boston to find Emma, but they more closely echo each other because they are both structurally designed to directly set up overarching storylines and are similarly shot.

I also just realized that the cliffhanger scene in Going Home additionally calls back to the opening scene sequence of the Season 2 premiere, Broken, by including a snippet of the song Charley's Girl and being set in New York.

The fact that there's all this symmetry is proof of how great the writing of the series was and why it holds up as one of the best TV shows of all time..
