The diner was busy with everyone piling inside for the festival of living art and because of all the tourists. There were some orders for the tourists but most of the tourists stopped to watch a television broadcast of a parade. Luke and Lorelai then got a new idea to start making plans for the festival when Kirk began to make new plans. He wanted to find the biggest pumpkin he could manage to show Lorelai how to smash the pumpkin into pieces. For Lorelai, it was the hardest thing to do because she wasn’t capable of breaking anything heavier than a pebble. She decided to keep her fear of smashing the pumpkin suppressed because she didn’t want Luke to find out that she failed.
