Interesting, I didn't know that..
We have a similar thing here in the Netherlands, it's on
May 4th and
5th. On May 4th at 8pm we have a two minute silence to remember everyone who died in wars since WW II.
Then on May 5th we celebrate the end of the occupation of our country by Nazi Germany during World War II.
