I think that too sometimes. Maybe they don't want to do what they did with Damon/Elena/Stefan as well as Damon/Katherine/Stefan. Like how Damon and Stefan's relationship was tainted by both love triangles. Like maybe they're exploring the notion of platonic love and familial love in Legacies, but that makes me wonder if Josie and Lizzie's relationship would taint as well. For example, Josie said that every time she likes someone Lizzie ends up liking them too.
