Baz Luhrmann Appreciation #1

I'm starting this up again, I can't be the only one who thinks the movie maker Baz Lurhmann is a genius.

Baz is a genius! A genius I tell you! It's kind of funny, because my English teacher was telling us about Romeo + Juliet (Baz's version, of course) and he kept on calling it "The version with Leonardo Dicaprio." and I kept on telling him that, even though Leo starred in it, he was not the one that made it. So I insisted on calling it Baz's version

And Moulin Rouge? Oh my gosh! How brilliant was that movie?! He's just a very awesome director, and I can't wait to see his upcoming flicks

That's so werid my English teacher calls it that to, we're reading Romeo + Juliet, I asked her "you mean the Baz Lurhmann version", she said "who's Baz Lurhmann".

Hello.

Maybe it's just 'cause I saw Zephirelli's (sp.?) version of Romeo and Juliet right before I saw the Lurhmann version, but I thought Romeo + Juliet was awesome. Luhrmann's very clever with cinematography, creativity, etc.

And ... yeah.

Congratulations!

I was just browsing through Amazon and found this ...

I'm so tempted to buy it. I almost bought it the last couple of times I went to Best Buy.

Look what else Amazon has ...

That's a DVD of Puccini - La Boheme / Baz Luhrmann, The Australian Opera (2002 Edition) (1994).

Anybody know if La Boheme is still running on Broadway?

I'm thinking of getting the Red Curtain Trilogy for my birthday. I want Romeo + Juliet and Strictly Ballroom on DVD ... but I do already have Moulin Rouge!.

I wish I could go to New York and see Baz's version of La Boheme on Broadway!
