Leon, The Professional (1994) #1

Plot: Leon is a first-class hit man, but is also a sensitive guy who loves his potted plants. He is moral: "No women, no children" is his professional motto. He is sympathetic to his neighbor, Mathilda, a typically rebellious twelve-year-old who has trouble with her family. But when her father runs afoul of corrupted detective Norman Stansfield, Mathilda turns to Leon for assistance.

Cast: Jean Reno as Leon, Natalie Portman as Mathilda, Gary Oldman as Norman Stansfield.

My Thoughts: This is probably one of the best films I've seen. Everything is top notch, the directing, the acting, the characters, and the action (the highlight being the opening scene). The chemistry between Reno and Portman is very convincing. Topping it off is Gary Oldman, who's playing the most deranged police officer since, well, ever. This is a must see.

OMG! I love this movie to death!!!! I remember watching this when I was a kid and I cried and cried and cried at the ending of the film. It's actually funny that this thread was resurrected because I finally bought this on DVD last week.

You need to rent this film ASAP! It's absolutely amazing! I officially became obsessed with Gary Oldman after this. He played the perfect villain

My brother and I used to ALWAYS rewind when he asks for "EVERYONE!" He looked like a maniac.

He's completely insane in this film. When I was a kid he scared the crap out of me. Now though, I realize that he is just brilliant

It was only a few years ago I watched this for the first time and even then, he scared the crap out of me. I think Jean is just incredible as Leon as well. What a talent. And of course Natalie Portman is just amazing.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. I prefer the uncut version called Leon: The Professional. It's more risque, but it's superior to The Professional.
