White Noise (2005) #1

this movie looks good, great premise, nice to see Michael Keaton back in the spotlight. Looks like it might be a nice thriller ride. Hoping the potential that his movie works out..

Drama and Thriller
Michael Keaton plays successful architect Jonathan Rivers, whose peaceful existence is shattered by the unexplained disappearance and death of his wife, Anna (Chandra West). Jonathan is eventually contacted by a man (Ian McNeice), who claims to be receiving messages from Anna through EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon), the process through which the dead communicate with the living through household recording devices. At first skeptical, Jonathan then becomes convinced of the messages' validity, and is soon obsessed with trying to contact her on his own. His further explorations into EVP and the accompanying supernatural messages unwittingly open a door to another world, allowing something uninvited into his life.
Release Date: January 7, 2005 (wide).
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for violence, disturbing images and language.
Distributor: Universal Pictures

This looks really good and I agree about Michael Keaton. It seems like it's been forever since he's been in a movie. He used to be one of my favs.

This movie makes me think of something....

This movie makes me think of something....
what movie does it make u think of?

yeah I'm excited to see Michael Keaton back, he kind of kept it on the down low for the last few years... He was a good actor back in the day, he represented...

As for the premise, sounds good, hopefully a good old popcorn flick...

This movie looks so cool. If anyone wants to find out more about EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena), which is the what the movie is about, you should check out this site: http://www.aaevp.com/. There are examples, and it's very creepy, but interesting.

Nah, not a movie.. a freaky phone call.

which btw Teesha said she got a call from a 000-000-0000 number the other day. Weird.

I loved him in Beetlejuice and Multiplicity.

This looks promising because it is the flip-side of the Dennis Quaid vehicle "Frequency" that was about talking between different periods of time (past and present).

This one is about death and after-life and I hope that not only is it scary, but also makes you think as well...

Because the scariest movies are ones where the premise could really happen.

It's good to see the real "Batman" is back on screen. I liked him in Beetlejuice as well.

I am intresting in EVP stuff, I check the sites out on it here and there its real intresting to hear the "voices of the dead." I am going to see White Noise when it comes out.

I love supernatural thrillers, and this one looks like it's going to be good. Here's hoping.

There is another thread on this movie, but it was made before the movie came out and no one commented on whether or not they ever saw it. So, this thread is okay (since it's ostensibly a different topic).

I haven't seen it and I keep going back and forth as to whether or not I should put it in my NetFlix queue. I'd be curious to know what people thought, too, because if it's crap I won't watch it. Crap horror is just so awful (unless it's intentionally bad).

Anyone watch this one?
