Who has done/been in the most movies?
I was thinking to myself last night what actor and actress has done the most movies ever and even actors/actresses that have just done so many movies.
So far I noticed that John Carpenter has done quite a few movies in his time |

Julia Roberts is in so many movies, but she's awesome. I was at the movie store and was going down the aisles and realized how many covers Julia Roberts is on. lol

Hmm...kind of an interesting thread topic...
But isn't John Carpenter a director? I think you might want to update your title. Also, do you mean past as well as present? Because older films were frequently made so quickly that people could do more films in a single year than they do now. Like - if you look up in IMDb.com the names of actors from the golden age of cinema you'll see they did SO many movies. For example - Fred Astaire. Sure, most of those movies were crap, but he really spun them out during the 30s. __________________

Duh, your right he is a director No wonder
Past, present whatever actor and actress has done the most movies then others. It can be more then one actor too like I noticed that Jim Carrey has been in quiet a few films as well as Tom Hanks. If this topic sucks you can always close it, I wont be upset and mad about it |

Samuel L. Jackson.
To really answer this question... Look at your character actors like Sam -- Not necessarily your big name stars like Bruce Willis or Julia Roberts |

I remember when LOTR came out that someone commented that Christopher Lee is either #1 or in the top 10 of actors with the most movies ever.
Among A-List actors you would have to put Gene Hackman and Michael Caine on the list - for awhile there in the 80s and early 90s they seemed to be in every other movie coming out. |

I think that Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp, John Travolta, Julia Roberts, Demi Moore and Susan Sarandon have been in a ton of movies. Oh and Clint Eastwood too, plus he has been directing some really great ones too.
As for older films, I would say Molly Ringwald, Michael J Fox and Matthew Broderick. I'm sure there is a lot more, some being fairly new or ones that aren't highly recognized. I can't think right now though. |

John Wayne appeared in over 160 films. I remember that as some trivia question once

Christopher Walken, Dustin Hoffman, and William H. Macy. Sometimes they are in good movies, sometimes they are in bad movies. They seem to not be picky about scripts and are just in a lot of movies.

What's the saying...It should be about quality not quantity.
A lot of the actor's in a ton of movies aren't even making halfway decent films. |
