Summary

Gilbert Grape lives in Endora, a place where nothing much happens. The only times the police got something to do is when Gilbert's autistic brother Arnie tries to climb up on the watertower nearby. Taking care of Arnie is mostly Gilbert's task which can be pretty demanding, at least while you are working at the local grocery store. Then one day Becky and her grandmother passes through Endora getting trouble with the car. Gilbert falls in love with Becky, but gets problems when he tries to find time for his own private life.

I couldnt find a thread for this movie so I thought I would start one up. If we do have one, Im so sorry for not trying hard enough to find it.

Anywho, I seriously love this movie. Its one of the best Johnny Depp movies I ever seen. Its so emotional yet fun and bittersweet to watch.

Anyone else a fan of this movie?

Nope - don't worry, sweets, I don't think we have a thread for this film.

But I'm glad you made one - I really liked this film. Thought it was very well done. I especially liked Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio, not to mention the actress who played the mom, in this film. The other characters didn't really matter all that much to me - or at least, I don't remember them that well, including Juliet Lewis, surprisingly.

I recently caught it on HBO when I woke up and I was so surprised as how much I loved this film. It had been years since I have seen it so I was like you and didnt remember too much of the other characters in the movie. Juliet aka Becky, was pretty good. she was sweet and I couldnt believe some of the actors I was seeing like Crispin Glover and Mary Steenburgen that were in the movie. I am so use to seeing them in like Joan of Arcadia and Willard, Charlie's Angels.

omg i LOVE this movie. i don't know how many times i've watched it. johnny, leo & juliette lewis - a perfect cast. how could i not love this movie.
it's probably my favorite johnny movie ever. and leo was brilliant.
