"“Come Home”" (TV-PG, D, L) (HDTV)
STARTING OVER –— Rory (Alexis Bledel) offers to help Logan (Matt Czuchry) write an article for the Yale Daily, but she is disappointed when he doesn’t invite her to be his date at a book signing party thrown by his father. When Richard (Edward Herrmann) sees Emily (Kelly Bishop) talking to man she dated, he rear-ends her car, forcing her to ride home with him. The Gilmores reconcile and decide to renew their wedding vows. Emily warns Christopher (David Sutcliffe) that Lorelai (Lauren Graham)and Luke (Scott Patterson) are getting serious and he had better do something quickly if he hopes to end up with Lorelai. Melissa McCarthy, Keiko Agena Yanic Truesdale, Liza Weil and Sean Gunn also star. Jessica Queller wrote the episode directed by Kenny Ortega

From DreamOn777 (Sarah)

- The episode starts with L/L in bad and Luke is trying to sleep but Lorelai is wide awake and she wants Luke to get a tv and they have a very funny convo about tv and Mel Brooks(who knew Luke knew about the Producers?) and it ends with the cutest thing...Lorelai says "Say Goodnight,Gracie" and Luke grumbles "Goodnight,Gracie"

- Then Paris/Rory meet Logan's dad...I think you guys already know that scene.Rory volunteers to give Logan her notes for an article and meet with him(alittle too quickly might I add)

- I think that Michel in this eppy is too funny. He wants to have a meeting about sexual harrassment issues and also says that someone has been messing up the rooms and eating tolberones.Kirk is sitting in on the meeting and claims he's thinking of going into the hotel business...he's all Kirk and funny

- Kyon tells Lane that Mrs.Kim is having a party and Lane has to come.Zack and Brian come in and show Lane the band photos they took and Lane is upset because she thinks she looks ugly with her glasses.Zack says that Lane looks smart with her glasses and there's a funny line.

- Emily and Richard are talking at the diningroom table and they decide that since there's this party that they should both be at,they should just both go.Their tones are not cold and there's some...connection there

- Logan meets Rory and she gives him her notes...he questions why she wanted to meet with him and Rory blushes and all. There's a cute line where Rory is trying to tell Logan she doesn't have a boring life and says,"I'm not really that boring" and he says,"Oh,I know I know you're not boring at all."They talk about his dad's party and then Logan goes ot get Rory a drink.

- Lorelai comes into Luke's and Lane isn't wearing her glasses. They talk and Lorelai goes to help Luke setting up his new oven. When he asks why she knows all this stuff about the oven, she tells him she read the manual when she couldn't get to sleep..t.he scene is too cute.Zack sees Lane with no glasses and doesn't like it...he wants her to put the glasses back on,but she says no.

- Richard and some business guy are talking about hiring a lawyer...Richard brings up Simon and then finds out that Emily went out with Simon. He's hurt but doesn't show it.

- Michel is still mad about the messy beds and missing tolberones...lorelai and sookie say they have a ghost..it's hilarious..michel thinks two employees are having an affair at work and goes to confront the guy about it.Kirk is working in the kitchen because he thinks he might go into the cooking world...lorelai tells him to get out.Rory calls and asks Lorelai to get her out of friday night dinner because she has "a thing with a guy"..i.e. she thinks she might be going to the party with Logan..Lorelai wants to know, but Rory doesn't want to jinx it.Michel comes back and says that the guy might file sexual harrassment suit because Michel was asking if he was seeing anyone special..that part is also hilarious

- Mrs Kim comes to Lane's apartment and wants Lane to come to the party.Lane says why should she when Mrs Kim yelled at Zack. She says she'll only come if she can bring Zack...then when Mrs Kim counters..Lane says she's bringing the whole band.

- They go to the party and basically the scenes are really funny...I think you guys know about them already though...Brian and Kyon are too cute and there's a little korean boy who keeps zack from going to the bathroom.

- Lorelai runs into Jackson who says that sookie has been working really hard lately and coming home late...Lorelai is confused

- Emily and Richard are going to the party and Richard is acting cold to her.

- Logan and Rory are talking about the office and Logan says he finished the story..Logan says he's heading to New York for te party and Rory is disapointed he didn't invite her but doesn't sayt anything...his line at the end is too cute..he says "Hey...don't be a stranger"

- Lorelai finds Sookie in a room watching tv and eating tolberone and sookie says that she found out this show was on and she decided to watch it..she says that she could watch it at home but then jackson would be fine and take davy and sookie would feel guilty that he works all day like she does but still has to take care of davy..Lorelai and Sookie watch tv together

- Emily is waiting for her valet ticket...simon comes by and they talk.Richard bangs into the back of emily's car and yells at simon. He then grabs emily and says he's taking her to the hospital. They argue and talk about simon and pennilyn lott

- There is more of the Lane storyline..here

- Emily and Richard get home and they're sweet...the end is sweet..Emily tells him to come home

- Rory and Lorelai meet outside of the house and rory says the guy thing didn't work out..Lorelai wants to know who it was and thinks it's Marty. They see Emily and Richard kissing and freak out...Emily and Richard welcome them in and tell them they're together and going renew their vows...and Lorelai is going to be the maid of honor and Rory the best man.Miss Celine is there and is fitting Emily for a wedding dress...Lorelai holds one infront of the mirror for herself and looking on,longingly

- Luke and Lorelai are at his apartment and Lorelai tells Luke about the wedding...he doesn't know if he should go because he doesn't fit in there.Lorelai convinces him to and she sees he got a tv because of her...they're cute

- Emily comes to Christopher's apartment and sees GG...who I thought was GiGi but apparently she's GG. Interior Yale Daily News Office - Day - (Day 2) - Scene 2 -

Stage Direction: It's all business in the newsroom. People buzzing around, on the phone, working on computers. Rory enters and heads to her desk. Paris is sitting on Rory's desk, anxiously staring at something across the room.

Rory tells Paris to move her butt. Paris says in a minute. Rory ask her what she is looking at.

Stage Direction: Rory looks over to what Paris is fixated on.

Stage Direction: Angle on Doyle and Mitchum Huntzberger. Doyle is showing Mitchum Huntzberger around the newsroom. Mitchum Huntzberger is a man in his early fifties, very Phil Bronstein in appearance and demeanor. Doyle seems about to drop dead from panic.

Doyle is telling Mitchum Huntzberger that they moved the desk placement around this year to have a more open "Washington Post" feel. Mitchum says he likes it, likes it very much.

Stage Direction: Angle on Rory and Paris.

Rory asks Paris, "Who's that?" Paris tells her, "Mitchum Huntzberger." Rory is now suddenly interested. She asks, "Logan's dad?" Paris tells her yes and Rory continues asking what is he doing here?

Paris tells Rory that apparently he comes by every now and then to make sure all the plaques with his name on them are being shined properly.

Stage Direction: Angle on Doyle and Mitchum.

Doyle tells Mitchum that all the computers are new. Mitchum says they look the same. Doyle assures him that the screens are bigger, at least an inch or half an inch larger. He panics a bit and asks for a ruler.

Mitchum tells Doyle, "Here."

Stage Direction: Mitchum pulls a tape measure out of his pocket. He measures a computer screen.

Mitchum remarks, "Eighteen inches."

Stage Direction: Mitchum snaps the tape measure closed.

Mitchum tells Doyle that a real newsman always has a tape measure in his pocket. Doyle, "Really."

Mitchum tells Doyle, "No, I bought a pool table on the way over here. had to make sure it would fit."

Stage Direction: Mitchum pats Doyle on the back. Doyle laughs nervously.

Stage Direction: Angle on Rory and Paris.

Rory tells Paris that Doyle looks a little green. Paris rants a bit saying that that is good. Doyle had no color in his face at all when he first heard Huntzberger was coming. He actually stopped breathing for 10 minutes. Paris thought her was clinically dead for two minutes.

Stage Direction: Angle on Doyle and Mitchum.

Mitchum tells Doyle that he a is running a tight ship here. Doyle says that "Real news is what makes the world go 'round."

Mitchum says. "Don't tell that to Fox."

Doyle says he wants to introduce a couple of our top reporters. He introduces ROry and Paris to Mitchum.

Paris starts on a soliloquy about how nice it is to meet him. She has admired his work, but that he definitely has his moments. Paris tells him that he completely blew it with the Fallujah takeover, but that he semi-redeemed himself with the Arlen Specter witch hunt coverage and that she did chuckle at how many times over the last month he referred to Blair as Bush's poodle.

Doyle jumps in by introducing Rory. She is over there and asks her to says something.

Paris says to Doyle, "What?, I was nice. That was nice."

Rory says that it is nice to meet you, Mr Huntzberger. Mitchum tells her to call him Mitchum, that Mr. Huntzberger was his father.

Rory asks him what bring him to town. Mitchum tell her that he has a son who goes to this establishment, or at least that is the rumor. He stopped by to see him on the way to New Youk where he is throwing a party for Seymour Hersh on Friday.

Rory perks up and asks Seymour Hersh? She says that she has read every book, article and Chain of Command, twice. That it made her stomach hurt for a month. She says "I love him."

Mitchum tell Doyle that he has an admirer of Hersh here and that he expect her to give him a lot of trouble.

Rory continues babbling with saying that she read "My Lai 4" when she was 15 and has been obsessed with him ever since. She says she's sorry she is gushing and she's done. Rory asks how long has Mitchum known him.

Mitchum tells her that they have been friends for years and to trust him. If you love the writing, you'd love the man. Rory tells him that's nice.

Mitchum says that he will tell him that he has a charming young admirer. That he won't tell him where or who and it will drive him insane and he won't speak to me for a month. He says that is how they have remained friends so long.

Stage Direction: Mitchum walks Doyle away from the girls.

Mitchum shifts attention to Doyle saying that it has been some time since he has seen Logan's byline in "The Daily News." Doyle mumbles a bit.

Mitchum asks Doyle if he know what Mitchum's business is. Doyle assures him he does. Mitchum continues and asks,"What's my business Doyle?"

Doyle tell him, "Newspapers."

Mitchum tells him that is correct and that someday he would like to hans his business over to his son. That he actually need him to know something about it.

Doyle - "Sure. That would be helpful."

Mitchum tells Doyle that this is where he comes in. That part of being a great editor is knowing how to bring out the best in reporters. How to motivate them, encourage them, discipline them. Mitchum says that Logan is young and distracted and that he really need Doyle's help to focus.

Doyle says that he will do anything he can. Mitchum tells Doyle he would consider it a personal favor and that he won't forget.

Stage Direction: He parts Doyle on the back.

Mitchum - "Terrific. Paris, Rory, it's been a delight. Doyle, thanks for the tour."

Stage Direction: Mitchum heads out.

Mitchum's parting comment, "And tell Logan to call his mother."

Lane is adamant is telling Zack that that is what they will have to do. Zack say he will try to get used to it.

At this point a Customer asks: "I'm sorry, am I supposed to eat my soup without a spoon?"

Zack jumps in telling the Customer that of course he doesn't. She is really smart. She's just not wearing glasses.

Reese remarks he wishes he had a secretary like Laurie.

They continue to talk about this case saying that the client won't ever settle. Richard says he would if they sent Laurie in there with her shoe. Anson tells Richard that the client has already gotten his lawyers working on it. Richard says that they will need to bring in outside council(sic) for this and that it is going to be messy. He asks who's available.

The three of them discuss the merits of various different attorneys. One of them brings up a name, the others citing why not. Finally, Richard brings up the name - Simon Maclaine.

Anson and Reese stumble around and tell Richard that he doesn't really want this one. Richard asks why not, that he has always done top notch work for them in the past. He emphasizes that Simon is aggressive, not sloppy, and very creative.

Anson and Reese finally bite the bullet and tell Richard that they assumed that Richard wouldn't want to work closely with Simon anymore since the whole thing with him and Emily.

Stage Direction: Richard looks at the men a beat. Then it dawns on him what they are alluding to.

Richard continues asking about another lawyer named Brandt.

Stage Direction: Reese and Anson continue to discuss Brandt as Richard processes his new information.

The Korean man is supper angry, "Cham chang pi hada. Ya bi han aieda. Neh mah um sok eh ma gwi ga dul uh gat kuh nah!"

Editor Note: AvidTVFan and her Roommate Jae Hung have gracious provided a translation of the previous Korean Phrase: "Shame on you. You're a sketchy kid. You have the devil in your mind." Jae Hung also provides us with the comment that she was surprised at the dialog because it's "kind of harsh." Thanks to both of them.

Stage Direction: The Korean man and woman move on.

Brian's come back is that at least broke the ice.

Stage Direction: They reach the punch bowl. Lane starts pouring for them as they all stand around there, awkwardly. She hands a cup to Zack.

Lane, Zack, Brian, and Gil sit at it. Their table is set up near the end of the main table. Kyon and a Little Korean Boy sit at the end of the main table, so they are near our group. brian and Gill seem content enough, as they eat. Zack looks even worse than before, and Lane is not having any fun. Zack and Lane are barely picking at their food.

Gil remarks that these are good eats - slimy. Brian also says that he is enjoying it.

Gill says that he likes slimy food because it slides down easy, and he gets the sense that it keeps sliding and helps the colon and stuff. Because it scrapes as it slides and since it is not in you long, you don't get fat.

Zack is a bit exasperated and tells Gil to just eat. Lane asks Zack if he is not hungry. Zack tell her that slimy food doesn't float his boat like it does the other. He excuses himself say he has to go to the bathroom.

Episode 5.13 - Wedding Bell Blues - The 100th Episode
Airdate - 8 Feb 2005

"Wedding Bell Blues (100th Episode)" - (TV-PG) (HDTV)
Tuesday , February 08 2005 Fresh Episode
8:00 - 9:00 PM ET

THE 100TH EPISODE/RICHARD AND EMILY RENEW THEIR VOWS - The night before Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) renew their vows, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) feel obligated to throw Emily a bachelorette party. At the ceremony the following day, Rory tells Logan (Matt Czuchry) she wants a relationship with him even though he's not ready to commit. Later, when Lorelai, Luke (Scott Patterson) and Christopher (David Sutcliffe) discover Rory and Logan together, half-dressed, the shocking scene leads to an angry confrontation between Luke and Christopher. A furious Lorelai figures out that Emily invited Christopher in an attempt to break up her relationship with Luke. Melissa McCarthy and Keiko Agena also star. The episode was written and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino

From Ms. Chicklet on TWoP

Ho. Ly. ****.

Highlights:

The impromptu bachelorette party for Emily at Lorelei's house, with Sookie, Babette, Miss Patty, Gypsy, Lane and Lane 2.0. Emily gets soused on rum and cokes, something she'd never heard of before.

Marilyn (Lorelei I's doppelganger) steps in as wedding planner after Emily fires the original one for botching the seating (which Lorelei had actually done, rearranging them while drunk after the party).

Richard's face when he saw Emily coming to him down the aisle. *sniff*

Their first dance. The song is "Wedding Bell Blues." Richard tells a sweet, embarrassing-for-Lorelei, story behind it. When Lorelei was three, she got terrible ear infections and screamed all night. They couldn't keep a nanny more than a week (Lorelei snarked that that mattered more to them than her agony). So Emily had to stay up with her. She tried music to soothe Lorelei, and fell in love with the song "Wedding Bell Blues." She remarked to Richard at the time, "It's a pity your name isn't Bill, this could be our song." Richard wraps up his speech by saying, "Just for tonight, and only tonight, my name is Bill." Emily is beaming.

Rory trying to take the initiative with Logan. She tried to come off cool and sophisticated, but came off desperate when Logan told her that while she's beautiful and smart and special and interesting, he wasn't boyfriend material. Jeez, Rory, it's been three months since you and Dean broke up. Take it easy!

"Getting Tootsied" was the catchword of the party. Tootsie is some overaffectionate, over-perfumed woman in the elder Gilmore circle.

Christopher gets absolutely smashed.

Rory decides to show Logan that she can do casual, grabbing a bottle of champagne and leading him into a side room.

Marilyn tells Lorelei that Emily and Richard want a picture with her and Rory by the cake. Lorelei and Luke go look for Rory, followed by Christopher, and Lorelei finds Rory...

...tipsy and halfway to horizontal with Logan. Lorelei snaps at Rory, pointing out that her grandparents' wedding was not a good place to be gettin' her freak on (my words, not Lorelei's). Christopher comes in and goes off, which Luke hears and he goes charging in. Macho yelling ensues. Lorelei shoos the guys out and tells Rory and Logan to go out a side or back door. She looks levelly at Logan, and not in a very friendly way.

Luke and Christopher are yelling in the hallway about who has the right to act as Rory's defender (Hello! She's 20 years old and acting of her own free will!). Luke says about Lorelei, "She's with me!" Christopher snorts, "For now!" Then he blabs it all, how he wants to be with her, and how he knows her and Luke aren't permanent because Emily came to him and told him so. Lorelei's horrified, and tells Luke she has no idea what Christopher is talking about. Luke says he has to get out of there. Lorelei tries to follow him, with Christopher in pursuit of her. She snaps at him twice to basically get the hell away from her before Marilyn pounces on her and drags her over for the picture. Lorelei's standing there with arms folded and says to Emily...

"You and me? We're done."

Info taken from Sides in the Shooting Script 12/5/04

The information summarized below is taken from the 7 Sides published on 12/5/04 for a Judge, A Portly Gentleman, Susan, Bill, a Band Leader, a Woman, and the Photographer.

I will include context and stage descriptions where appropriate.

There is a lot of Dialog and Stage Direction blacked out in these Sides.
  • Characters:
    Judge - Older man
Portly Gentleman - Older Portly man
Susan - Woman, near Lorelai's age
    Bill - Man - near Lorelai's age
    Band Leader - man
    Woman - Woman (gossip?)
    Photographer - Man

Assumed Interior Location Unknown - Day - (Day Unknown) - Scene 17 -

Editor Note: Scene is picked up in progress.

Stage Direction: Angle on Emily. Emily now approaches the platform. Richard steps forward and offers Emily his arm. He walks her up to the Judge. The string quartet finishes their song.

The Judge asks everyone to be seated.

Stage Direction: The guests sit

The Judge begins his remarks describing how he has known Emily and Richard Gilmore for 20 years. He has known them to be two of the most formidable opponents the world has ever seen. They compliment each other. They defend each other. In a word, they were made for each other.

Stage Direction: Rory glances back over her shoulder to look at Logan again.

Editor Note: There is extensive Stage Direction that is blacked out here. It appears from what can be made out to involve Rory and Logan in some manner.

A Working Assumption: From other Spoiler sources, it is known that Logan has a Girl Companion with him at some point during the episode. It is possible that Logan has attended the Wedding with that Girl companion.

Stage Direction: Angle on Rory. Rory turns back. Her face falls.

The Judge is continuing telling everyone that today, in front of friends, Richard and Emily have chosen again to say to each other, "I choose you." The Judge continues asking, "How many of us in a lifetime get chosen, even once, for something we really want."

Stage Direction: Angle on Luke. He is still transfixed, staring at Lorelai. Marilyn leans in and whispers to him. In the back of the room a man comes in. He quietly walks forward and takes a seat in the back of the room. It's Christopher. No one notices.

The Judge ask Richard and Emily to face each other.

Stage Direction: Richard and Emily turn to each other.

The Judge: "Please repeat after me. I, Richard Gilmore..."

Richard begins his vow: "I, Richard Gilmore..."

Editor Note: Scene 18 is picked up in progress. A lot is blacked out.

Stage Direction: Angle on Rory. Rory positions herself behind a rather portly gentleman who is engaged in a conversation.

The Portly Gentleman is expounding to a woman about facts of genealogy.

Scene Direction: Cut to Luke and Lorelai

Luke is finishing up a conversation with a couple named Susan and Bill. Lorelai is there also.

Stage Direction: Lorelai swallows.

Lorelai greets Bill: "Hi, Bill, you remember me? Lorelai?

Bill remarks that he does and it is nice to see you again.

Susan jumps in to say that they should go find their table and that they would see them again later.

Luke tells Bill bye and Lorelai says goodbye to Susan.

Stage Direction: Bill and Susan exit off. Lorelai pats Luke on the back.

There is further dialog on the balance of the page between Lorelai and Luke about Bill and Susan. It is all blacked out.

Scene Direction: Cut back to the Portly Gentleman.

The Portly Gentleman is rambling on about how you start with at the siblings and then count down even generations, the children of siblings are first cousins, the grandchildren of siblings are second cousins, and so on. He continues on at great length describing second and third cousins twice removed.

Stage Direction: Rory peeks out from behind and looks at Logan...the balance of the blacked out Stage Direction cannot be made out.

End of Sides for Bill, Susan, and The Portly Gentleman.

Editor Note: Scene 18 Continues and is picked up a bit later.

Lorelai: "Oh, uh..."

The Band Leader booms out: "Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to present to you for the second time, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gilmore!"

Stage Direction: The room breaks into applause.

Editor Note: There is about a half-page of blacked out dialog and Stage Direction next.

Stage Direction: Angle on the dance floor. Richard is leading Emily around the dance floor. The guests are applauding. He walks her over to their special table for two and sits her down. The bandleader comes up and hands him a microphone. The guests quiet down. Lorelai and Luke take their seats at their table. Rory is already there, holding a cup of coffee, glaring off in the direction of Logan's table.

Editor Note: There is some blacked out dialog between the three of them.

Stage Direction: Angle on Richard.

Richard begins with: "On behalf of myself and my second wife Emily, I would like to thank you all for coming here to help us celebrate." He says that they are all good friends and that he and Emily are very, very lucky.

Editor Note: There is some blacked out Stage Direction concerning Lorelai.

Richard continues with how he gave the planning for their traditional first dance a lot of thought. That the song would represent the next phase in our marriage. The best phase of their marriage. He went over all the greats: Bennett, Sinatra, Chuck Berry and a story popped into his head. Then he says: "Now, most of you know my daughter, Lorelai."

Stage Direction: A couple at the table next to Lorelai lean in to each other.

The woman says: "The pregnant one."

Stage Direction: Lorelai sighs.

Editor Note: I know this little chunk of the scene is going to have people running off that Lorelai is now pregnant with Luke's child. However, what is shown in the Sides and such does not confirm that one way or another. IMO, however, in reading things and analyzing the context, it is my take that this is an older woman who knows of Lorelai's pregnancy with Rory and Lorelai's entire back story. It is in this context that when Richard makes reference to everyone knowing his daughter Lorelai - that this is how Richard's friends know of her - Pregnant Lorelai at age 16. Hence, the woman's descriptor - 'The pregnant one." Of course, it is possible that Lorelai really is pregnant again. But, as I wrote, this context refers to Lorelai in her younger years. YMMV

Editor Note: The balance of the page is blacked out. So, we do not know the name of the song

We pick up with Emily saying to Richard; "I cannot believe you remembered this song."

Richard asks for her hand.

Stage Direction: Emily takes his hand. She gets up and they start to dance. The balance of the direction is blacked out.

Stage Direction: Angle on Richard and Emily. They dance.

There is some blacked out dialog between Richard and Emily.

Stage Direction: Angle on the Band leader. he gets up and steps up to the microphone.

The Band Leader says: "At this time, if you're in love, we'd like to invite you to join Emily and Richard on the dance floor."

Stage Direction: Angle on Lorelai and Luke.

Most the next part of the dialog is blacked out, but from what I can just make out - Lorelai is asking (telling?) Luke to dance.

End of Side for The Band Leader.

Editor Note: Scene 18 continues on.

Assummed Interior Location Unknown - Time Unknown - (Day/Night Unknown - Scene 28 -

Editor Note: This scene - you've all been there - the group Wedding Picture - Chaos reigns. The scene is picked up in progress. There is a lot of blacked out Stage Direction and Dialog.

Stage Direction: The photographer take's Lorelai's arm and brings her over to the outside of Emily.

The photographer does his thing telling everyone that that is wonderful. Hold that...Everyone a little closer... perfect hold that.

Stage Direction: The photographer aims his camera. Lorelai leans in close to Emily's ear.

Lorelai's one dialog line is blacked out.

Stage Direction: Lorelai stands back up.

The photographer counts: "one, two, three..."

Stage Direction: He snaps the picture as Emily realizes what Lorelai just said to her, as we: FADE OUT.

End of Side for the Photographer

End of Scene 28 and

End of The Show

End of Casting Sides for 5.13 - "Wedding Bell Blues"

Info taken from Sides in the Shooting Script 12/21/04

The information summarized below is taken from the 4 Sides published on 12/215/04 for Frank, Lanny, a Little Girl, and Maybelle.

I will include context and stage descriptions where appropriate.

There is a lot of Dialog and Stage Direction blacked out in these Sides.
  • Characters:
    Frank - Chauffeur
Lanny - Young Man Logan's age - probably a Yale Student
Little Girl - an eight-year old little girl
Maybelle - a moneyed Mother of an eight-year old girl (Not - Little Girl)

The Casting Sides start with FADE IN: for ACT TWO

Interior Dragonfly Inn/Living Room/Dining Room - Next Morning - Day (Day 2) - Scene 7 -

Stage Direction: Lorelai is with a woman, Maybelle, a moneyed mother of an eight-year-old girl. She is giving her a little tour of the Inn. Michel is trailing along, taking some notes.

Lorelai is telling Maybelle that as the little girls arrive they will gather them in the living room. The dining room connecting doors will be closed. When it is time for breakfast, they will open the doors and they will get the full, beautiful effect.

Maybelle says that will be great. Lorelai tells her that they will also have music - a nice little fanfare. Lorelai asks if Maybelle likes Yanni. Maybelle says she hates him with every fiber of her being.

Lorelai assures her that they are in perfect sync. Lorelai goes on to describe that there will be small scale tables set with china and a silver tea service; little plates, little cups, with twelve little chairs for all of then to sit on.

Michel chimes in asking "Twelve?" Michel thought there were only six little girls? Lorelai tells him, "Six girls and their six dolls."

Lorelai goes on to tell him that this is a pancake breakfast for the Little Girls and their dolls.

Michel goes into his Put-Upon Frenchman rant about the Dolls - "They don't have stomachs, lungs, or spleens and we are serving them breakfast?" Lorelai says that's right. Michel rants continue: "Teeth, throats, colons, they don't have these either, unless they are brides of Chucky...."

Lorelai ignores Michel and tells Maybelle that she will order everything and all they have to do is show up. Maybelle tells Lorelai that the girls and their dolls are so looking forwards to the breakfast.

Lorelai says she loves it and Maybelle leaves.

Stage Direction: Maybelle crosses away.

Michel asks a rhetorical question: "Is she psychotic?"

Stage Direction: Maybelle heads off as Lorelai and Michel head for the Kitchen."

End of Scene 7

End of Maybelle Sides - Part 1

Interior Dragonfly Inn/Kitchen - Continuous - Day (Day 2) - Scene 8 -

Editor Note: We only have a fragment of the start of Scene 8.

Stage Direction: Sookie is there as Lorelai and Michel enter.

Lorelai enters the kitchen telling Michel that they're just having a little silly fun. Girls love dolls - So chill.

End of fragment of start of Scene 8

Interior Logan's Dorm/Hallway - Later - Night (Night 2) - Scene 14 -

Editor Note: This scene is broken by masking out and blacking out of large portions of the content. It does look like Rory is going to a card game apparently as a participant. We don't have the prior setup or how Rory got invited. Also, there is a speaking part for the character of Robert. From the Guest Star listings there were two different Roberts. One in 5.07 - You Jump, I Jump, Jack and a different one in 5.08 - The Party's Over. There is no indication which one is used in these scenes.

Stage Direction: Rory, looking very put together, approaches Logan's door. She primps a bit, then knocks. She's surprised when a guy she does not recognize named Lanny opens it.

Lanny looks at Rory a comes with a taciturn - "Yeah"

Rory, somewhat taken aback says, "Oh. hi. I don't think I'm in he right place." We hear Logan from off-screen asking Lanny who is at the door.

Lanny yells out to Logan, "Girl Scout!" Logan off-screen, "Hey Ace! Come on in."

Lanny gives Rory a shrug and tells her to come on in.

Stage Direction: Rory enters.

Assumed Interior Assumed Logan's Dorm Room - Continuous - Night (Night 2) Scene Unknown, probably 15 -

Editor Note: Here we have a discontinuous break in the scene and pick up with a fragment already in progress. There is a card game going on and Rory is a participant.

Stage Direction: Rory looks a little creeped out by the exchange. All the players have their cards. They all look at them except Robert, who stares at Rory. Hazel throws her cards in.

Lanny says he is out too. Colin puts in his chips saying, "Down to the Turks again." Robert puts his chips in also declaring - "I'm in."

End of Scene Fragment.

End of Casting Sides for character Lanny.

Editor Note: the next Casting Side is for Maybelle - Part 2. It begin with scene 16. At the top of the page is the last part of Scene 15 which is marked out. The last part of Scene 15 contains dialog between Logan, Rory, Colin and Robert. The preceding scene fragment is noted as probably being part of Scene 15 because of the sequence.

Editor Note 2: The next scene, 16, is identified as occurring on Monday and being Day 3 of the Episode Sequence. From this we can say that the prior scenes occurred on Sunday - Day 2 of the episode. This is the first time any Casting Side has tagged itself to a particular day of the week. it is unknown if this is done for a specific reason.

Interior Dragonfly/Living Room - Monday Morning - Day (Day 3) - Scene 16 -

Stage Direction: We come up on seven little girls, each holding a doll and looking bored and impatient. They are gathered on the couch, chairs, and floor in the living room. Maybelle is there too, with a couple other moms. They all look impatient, too. Sookie is on a portable phone, looking harried. Michel is nearby.

Sookie is doing her best to reassure Maybelle that "she" is on her way. The "she" being Lorelai who is apparently not there at the Dragonfly.

Maybelle says to Sookie that she hopes Lorelai is on her way. Maybelle tells the little girls to hang in there and that she knows they're hungary, maybelle turns to Sookie saying that they are getting ready to rebel.

Sookie says that it is just that Lorelai ordered all the tables and the little china and that it is here somewhere. Sookie excuses herself and turns to Michel asking him, "Please help. You're just standing there."

Michel tells Sookie that her is staying out of the way. In situations like these, to not get in the way is so valuable.

Sookie, no exasperated, tells him to "Well, get in the way. Entertain the kids...."

Michel rants back, "Like I'm Spongebob Bigpants or something? I do not entertain children."

Editor Note: the Scene is broken by a series of dialog exchanges between Sookie and Michel and picks up gain on the next page. Michel is apparently telling Sookie ways the Little Girls can amuse themselves.

Michel is telling Sookie, "They can throw pancakes...." Sookie gives an exasperated, "Oh!"

Michel continues, "Oh here's a fun game - poke out all the dolls' eyes, mix them up and try to match them to the right dolls."

Editor Note: There is some more blacked out dialog between Sookie and Michel. it picks up with a plea from Michel.

Michel cries, "Don't leave me here." Sookie implores Michel to keep stalling.

Stage Direction: Sookie hurries out. Michel turns back to the group. A Little Girl approaches him.

The Little Girl tells Michel that her Dolly fell. "Kiss the boo boo?"

Michel looks confused, "What part of your Dolly is the boo boo?"

Editor Note: Scene 16 continues but the Side ends here.

End of Casting Side for Maybelle - Part 2.

End of Casting Side for a Little Girl.

Editor Note: The next series of scenes pick up with Rory in Scene 26. Rory apparently has acquired the services of a limousine and chauffeur named Frank. Exactly how Rory got Frank and the Limo is not in the Casting Sides and open to speculation. Scene 26 is picked up in progress in the interior of the Limo. The blacked out dialog is between Rory and one other person.

Interior Rear of Limousine - Day (Day 3) - Scene 26 In Progress -

Stage Direction: Rory knocks on the glass separating them from Frank. The window rolls down. She holds up a sandwich.

Rory asks Frank if he like ham and cheese. Frank formally, "Thank you, Miss."

Rory tells Frank that they can head home now. Frank replies very good.

Stage Direction: The window starts to roll up.

Editor Note: The remainder of the scene which is short is blacked out.

Interior Limousine - Moments Later - Day (Day 3) - Scene 28 -

Stage Direction: Rory gets back into the car with the box ribbons.

Rory says that she got them. Lane compliments Rory on her moxie.

Rory says, "Oh, I've got moxie coming out of my ears today."

Stage Direction: A nearby car begins honking. Rory, still revved up from the Taylor confrontation, has no patience.

Lane asks Rory if they are honking at them? Rory says that they better not be. She asks Frank if the car is honking at them.

Frank says that he believes that they are.

Stage Direction: Rory punches a button in the limo and the sunroof begins opening.

Editor Note: There is a single dialog speech blacked out. Can not tell if it is Rory or Lane.

Stage Direction: Rory stands and pops her head through the sunroof.

Editor Note: The scene continues, but the Side ends here.

End of Casting Side for Frank - Part 1.

Editor Note: Part 2 of the Casting Side for Frank begins with Scene 30 and FADE IN: ACT FOUR.

Interior Lorelai's House/Lorelai's Bedroom - Monday Night - 9 PM - Night (Night 3) - Scene 30 -

Editor Note: All of the Stage Direction is blacked out. The scene starts will Rory entering Lorelai's Bedroom.

Rory yells out, "Heads up - man coming in."

Stage Direction: Frank enters, carrying the TV and and DVD player.

Lorelai questions - "The TV?"

Rory tells her that if you won't come downstairs, I'm bringing downstairs up to you. Rory tell Frank to put it on the table.

Frank tells her "Very Good." he turns to Lorelai and says "Afternoon, ma'am."

Lorelai greets Frank back with, "Afternoon."

Rory tells Lorelai as if it is an everyday occurrence, "That's Frank. My driver."

Editor Note: There is obvious Rory - Lorelai dialog for the next page or so and it is all blacked out. But, I am sure you can imagine the kind of questions Lorelai would have for her daughter. The scene picks back up after Frank has set things up.

Stage Direction: Frank has finished setting up the TV.

Frank tells Rory and Lorelai that all is done here. Rory tells him that that is excellent.

Frank asks is there is anything else that he can get for her. Rory says that she doesn't think so and thanks him. Lorelai echoes Rory's thanks.

Stage Direction: Frank exits.

Editor Note: The scene continues but everything is blacked out.

End of Casting Sides for Frank - Part 2.

The Counter Lady - "Right."

Lorelai tells her, "As in, 'I really need coffee, coffee, coffee.' You know."

The Counter Lady - "No."

End of Casting Side for the Counter Lady

Editor Note: Scene 9 continues for some period. The balance is masked out.

Editor Note: Scene 13 begins with FADE IN: Act Two.

Editor Note: Jumping a bit to put the Sides for the Character Bradley in context. The Stars Hollow Elementary School is putting on a production of Fiddler On The Roof. The character Bradley is seeking Luke's help with set construction.

Interior Luke's Diner - Day (Day 2) - Scene 13 -

Stage Direction: The Stage Direction is completely blacked out.

Editor Note: The scenes opening dialog is blacked out. The characters talking cannot be determined. It pick up with Stage Direction.

Stage Direction: Luke crosses off to refill a customer's coffee.
Angle on the front door. Lulu and a small, timid, eight-year-old boy, Bradley, enter. Lulu leans down to Bradley.

Lulu points Luke out to Bradley and tell to him, "Go on. He;s right over there."

Stage Direction: Bradley hesitantly heads over to Luke, who is clearing off a table. Bradley reaches Luke and stands there. Luke doesn't notice him there at first. He finally turns and jumps, a little startled by the tiny boy.

Luke does a gruff bit "Geez, kid. don't stand there. you'll give me a heart attack."

Stage Direction: Luke crosses to the counter and put the plates down. Bradley follows him. Luke turns to see him there.

Bradley is terrified and whispers a "Mr. Danes?"

Luke continues with telling Bradley to speak up that they have a height difference.

Bradley tells Luke that he has something to ask him.

Luke a bit preemptively tells Bradley the bathrooms are in the back, but the are for customers. So, Bradley will have to order something first. Did he want to order something?

Stqge Direction: Bradley shakes his head "no."

Luke asks him if he wants to use the bathroom. Bradley shakes his head "no."

Luke continues with, "Well, what do you want?"

Stage Direction: Bradley looks at Luke, terrified, then suddenly takes an inhaler out of his pocket and shoves it in his mouth.

Luke in a concerned way asking Bradley what he is doing.

Stage Direction: Lulu come rushing over.

Luke asks Lulu what Bradley is doing. Lulu tells luke not to worry that Bradley does this when he is terrified.

Luke grumps a bit irritated, "What the hell does he have to be terrified of?"

Lulu asks Bradley is he would like her to tell Luke for him?

Stage Direction: Bradley, inhaler still shoved in his mouth, nods "yes."

Lulu tells him Okay and turns to Luke to tell him that Bradley came to say that Luke needed to be at the school tomorrow at three o'clock. And to please bring your tools. Lulu turns back to bradley to tell him that he did that very well.

Editor Note: Part of the dialog is marked out, but not very well. It is apparent that Luke helping the Kids is something that he is/was planning to do.

The is brief exchange between Luke and Lulu that is blacked out, but Luke answers with telling her that if pother people are going to help that he might as well. "You know, for the kids. So...tomorrow at three, right?"

Stage Direction: The Stars Hollow Elementary School Auditorium is getting ready to turn into Anatevka. A group of children, ages ranging from seven to eleven are hanging out, running around, playing, snoozing, waiting to start rehearsal. Onstage off to the side are planks of wood, cans of paints, and a big box of tools all ready for people to start building the sets. A few little kids are fiddling with instruments down in the orchestra pit. Lulu is standing with a group of children, including Bradley. Luke enters from the wings and wanders onto the stage, looking very uncomfortable and very tall. Lulu spots him.

Lulu calls. "Hey Luke!"

Lulu has a brief comment to Luke that is blacked out. Bradley looks at Luke and tells him he is 10 minutes late.

Stage Direction: Lulu crosses away.

Luke asks Bradley and the others, "Okay, so where do we start, men?"

Bradley tells Luke that the first thing they have to do is build Tevye's house. Luke says that OK, we can do that. Bradley continues with telling Luke that the plans for the house are over there.

Luke tells Bradley that is great and ask him to show him the plans.

Stage Direction: Bradley starts over to the other side of the stage. Luke and Damon follow.

Editor Note: The dialog here is blacked out. It appears to be between Luke and the character Damon. We do not have Casting Sides for this character. We may get further Sides for this character.

Stage Direction: They reach the other side of the stage. On the floor lay simple drawn out plans of different structures.

Bradley shows and tells Luke that these are the plans. Luke says, OK, Let's see what we've got.

Stage Direction: Luke surveys the plans.

Luke says that they seem pretty simple. There is a part here blacked out about something "already cut." Luke continues with telling all of them, "Let's get started. Everyone grab a Phillips head screwdriver."

Luke has a dialog bit here that is blacked out, but it continues.

Stage Direction: The boys hold up their hands.

Luke tells Bradley that that is a hammer. Bradley looks a bit puzzled, "It is?"

Editor Note: The is last bit of dialog between Luke and Damon which should confirm that we should get additional Casting Sides for this character.

End of Bradley Casting Sides - All Parts.

Editor Note: Scene 16 Continues.

Editor Note: Scene 23 is picked up in progress. This dramatization of the musical Fiddler On The Roof has divided the population of Anatevka into the Papas who sing with Tevye and the Mamas who sing with Golde. Kirk has been cast as Tevye. Scene 23 appears to be a rehearsal.

Interior Stars Hollow Elementary School Auditorium - Time Unknown - Scene 23 -

Stage Direction: All of Anatevka assembles on the stage. Kirk in the middle as Tevye.

Carrie calls for the music.

Stage Direction: The pianist starts playing.

Here we have a recreation of Tevye's monologue from the musical about Tradition. After the speech we have Tevye and The Papas singing about Tradition.

This is followed by a singing chorus by Golde and The Mamas about the proper home.

Stage Direction: Yente starts to come onstage and move into her position.

End of Lazar Wolf Casting Sides - Part 1.

Interior China Palace - Night (Night 4) - Scene 26 -

Stage Direction: The group has taken over a private room. There is a marked out sentence here. Also at the table are Finn and colin, and two girls, Rosemary and Juliet. the table is crammed with plates of food and beer bottles and glasses plus a couple of bottles of wine. It's obviously a very festive party. Everyone is laughing and having a great time. Everybody, that is except Marty, who seems very quiet.

Logan is regaling everyone with a story about Colin. He remarks that he thought Colin was never going to wake up. Colin chimes in with the comment that if he had known how long the hangover was going to last, he wouldn't have.

Rosemary come in with, "There is nothing like a charming little 'you wouldn't believe how drunk I got' story to get the girls all hot."

Colin is all smarmy with, "It's always worked before."

Stage Direction: A couple of waiters come in, arms loaded down with more dishes of food. They put down the new food, clear away the empty plates and refill everyone's drink glasses.

Juliet is complaining that the smell of the food is making her ill. Rory says she thinks it's delicious. Juliet asks Rory how she can eat like that.

Rosemary says that Juliet hasn't eaten a meal since 1994. Juliet explains that her metabolism simply doesn't accept food.

Logan butts in with, "Yes. That must be it. A modern medical miracle."

Stage Direction: Logan picks up a beer.

Logan asks Rory, "May I?" and Rory says, "Sure."

Editor Note: Apparently Logan is pouring Rory a glass of beer. The balance of the Rory - Logan dialog on this page is marked out.

Finn pontificates to everyone who will listen, "Rosemary's going home with me tonight. I just thought everyone at this table should know."

Rosemary comes back with, "Oh Finn, You do hallucinate."

Juliet pipes up asking Rory if she is going to eat that fried shrimp. Rory says that she thinks she will.

Juliet exclaims - "Oh God, can I watch?"

Logan tells Juliet to just eat something. Juliet tells him - "No."

Juliet rambles on that she will not be eating until she gets married to some gorgeous but very poor man who will sign an iron clad pre-nup and then she will get very, very fat but he won't ever leave her because he would be cut off without a penny and die in a trailer park.

Finn tells her that is a brilliant idea. Rosemary tells here she's sick.

Finn switches gears, "I agree with anything Rosemary says tonight."

Rosemary tells Finn that she is not going home with him.

Editor Note: The Stage Direction written nest is blacked out, but part of the beginning can be made out. It has Logan placing his arm along the back of Rory's chair(?) - the balance cannot be read.

Colin speaks up telling them all that the best chinese food in the world is a tiny place outside of Keaton's

Logan - "Ah Keaton's." Finn chimes with "The golden days of Keaton's."

Colin tells the others that Keaton's is a boarding school he went to in Switzerland.

Rory asks him - "Really." Colin tells her grades seven through twelve.

Rory says that living in Switzerland sounds exciting.

End of Scene 26

End of Rosemary Casting Sides

Interior Stars Hollow Elementary School Auditorium - Same Time - Night (Night 4) - Scene 27 -

Stage Direction: Onstage the show is now in progress. Kirk, as Tevye, is talking to the little boy playing Lazar Wolf.

Editor Note: The dialog between Lazar Wolf and Tevye represents where Lazar comes to talk to Tevye .

Lazar asks Tevye if he knows why he is here. Tevye tells him, yes, but there is no use talking about it.

Lazar asks why not. Tevye asks why should he get rid of her.

Lazar says, "Well, you have a few more without her."

Tevye exclaims, "I see! Today you want one. Tomorrow you may want two."

Editor Note: The balance of the scene on this page is blacked out. It picks up on the next page with the first part blacked out.

Lulu says that she needs that schmatte! Lorelai tells her, "Oh, sorry. I got it, I got it."

Lulu asks where did Sarah go? Lorelai tells her to relax they will find her.

Editor Note: The Stage Direction at this point is blacked out.

End of Scene 27

End of Lazar Wolf Casting Sides - All parts.

Interior China Palace - Same Time - Night (Night 4) - Scene 28 -

Stage Direction: Every plate is not empty. the wine and the beer have run out. Colin is busy going over the check.

Logan remarks to all, "Okay, Night's young. Where are we going next."

Rory says that she doesn't think she can move.

Juliet in some amazement, "You're full?"

Rory tells her that she is full. Juliet asks her is that fabulous?

Rory looks at her, "you know Juliet, it doesn't suck."

Finn chimes in and suggest that they all hit the Alligator Lounge.

Logan says that would be perfect, "Zydeco music." He tells Rory that she is going to love this place.

End of Casting Sides for Juliet.

Editor Note: Scene 28 continues for some length.

Interior Stars Hollow Elementary School Auditorium - Same Time - Night (Night 4) - Scene 30 -

Onstage Kirk as Tevye is singing "Do You Love me" with Golde. (We will shoot the entire song and Intercut it with the offstage action.)

Tevye and Golde are singing the song exactly like in the musical.

Stage Direction: Angle On backstage in the wings. Luke is there fixing a small wagon wheel. Lorelai is helping a little girl change quickly into the Constable's outfit.

Editor Note: The remaining page and a half of the side has dialog between Luke and Lorelai that is blacked out. It is Intercut with Tevye and Golde singing the song "Do you Love Me." The dual intent is obvious between Tevye and Golde - and Luke and Lorelai. The Stage Direction dealing with Luke and Lorelai is also blacked out.

End of Scene 30

End of Golde Casting Side

Editor Note: The beginning of Scene 31 is at the bottom of this page (73). The Scene description and all the dialog on this portion of the page is blacked out. The characters cannot be reliably determined. I know that there is going to be considerable guessing - but in all candor - who is saying what and to whom cannot be determined. It is unknown if Scene 31 continues past page 73.

End of Casting Sides for 5.15 - "Jews & Chinese Food"

From gluglug
Marty is also at the restaurant, but is described as not having a good time like the rest of the group and is very quiet. He doesn't have any dialogue or if he does it's blacked out. It's easy to guess why he's not having a good time if Rory is there with Logan.

Episode 5.16 - Unnamed
Air date: 1 Mar 2005

Info taken from Sides in the Shooting Script 1/25/05

The information summarized below is taken from the 5 Sides published on 1/25/05 for Jonesy, Eliza, Frankie, Meter Maid, Customer.

I will include context and stage descriptions where appropriate.

There is a lot of Dialog and Stage Direction blacked out in these Sides.
  • Characters:
    Jonesy - A customer in Luke's diner
Eliza - Maid at the Elder Gilmores
    Frankie - A busboy at Weston's Bakery
Meter Maid - Woman - Ticket Writer and All 'Round Public Servant
Customer - A Big, Burly Male customer in Luke's

Editor Note: Scene 7 is picked up in progress. The apparent location is Luke's Diner, time unknown.

Interior - Luke's Diner - Time Unknown - Scene 7 -

Stage Direction: Jonesy calls Lane over.

Lane asks Jonesy if she can help. and Jonesy says that he is sorry to be a pest but that his omlet is soft and he point to something else and says that that is way overdone.

Lane shushes him and tells him not so loud.

Stage Direction: Too late. Luke approaches the table.

Stage Direction: Luke grabs the guy by the shirt, practically pick him up, pushes him towards the door and throws him out. He slams it shut behind him, then spins around to face the other customers.

End of Casting Side for Jonesy

Editor Note: Scene 7 continues for some amount of time

Editor Note: Scene 10 is picked up in progress. It appears to be at the Elder Gilmore's Mansion

Interior Assumed Gilmore Mansion - Time Unknown - Scene 10 -

Emily tells Richard to have her (Rory) open her gift.

Editor Note: There is blacked out dialog here for about 4 lines.

Stage Direction: Richard hands her the gift bag. Rory pulls out a beautiful leather-bound book out.

Rory exclaims, "Oh my God. It's amazing."

Richard tells her it is Leaves of Grass in Greek. A hundred years old. Some beautiful engravings.

Rory remarks that now she will have to learn to read Greek.

Emily tells Rory to feel the leather.

Editor Note: The dialog is blacked out here. But from the pace of the scene it appears to be between Rory and Emily.

Stage Direction: Emily has more than picked up on Rory's attitude. After a beat, Eliza re-enters.

Eliza tells Emily that dinner is served.

Emily thanks Eliza and turn to Rory and tells her that she can flip through that a little later.

Rory tells her, "Okay."

Editor Note: The balance of the dialog on the page is blacked out. Scene 10 appears to continue for some amount.

Editor Note: The Casting Side for Frankie begins with ACT THREE - FADE IN:

Interior Weston's Bakery - Later That Night - Night (Night 3) - Scene 13 -

Stage Direction: Sookie and Lorelai - a portion is blacked out - sit at a tqable, eating dessert in the crowded bakery.

Lorelai is telling Sookie that, "See, now this is perfect."

Sookie responds that it's not a nightclub but its a place you never go to so it's different and exciting.

Lorelai says, "And chocoltely."

Sookie asks Lorelai if she is having fun and Lorelai says that she is not missing the couch a bit.

Stage Direction: As Sookie and Lorelai toast each other with their coffee cups, a busboy, Frankie, crosses by their table with a bin of dishes.

Frankie exclaims as he approaches, "Hey Lorelai!! Wow, twice in one day, huh?"

Stage Direction: Lorelai os caught.

Lorelai says Hi to Frankie and tells him she just had to have some pie, you know.

Stage Direction: As Frankie moves off, Sookie looks at Lorelai.

Lorelai snarks at Sookie that she doesn't have the menu memorized, yet.

Sookie is a statement says to Lorelai, "You come here..."

Lorelai tells her, uh you know just once... a day.

Sookie comes back with. "Unbelievable."

End of Casting Side for Frankie

Editor Note: Scene 13 continues.

Editor Note: Scene 15 is picked up in progress. It apparently has both Lorelai and her father Richard in it. There is a significant portion of the dialog blacked out between Lorelai and Richard

Exterior Assumed in Front Of Luke's Diner - Time Unknown - Scene 15 -

Stage Direction: Angle on Lorelai's POV. A Meter Maid is standing by Luke's boat, which is still in front of the diner. She is writing a ticket.

Editor Note: Lorelai is apparently on the phone. The dialog is marked out.

Stage Direction: Lorelai hangs up and runs up to the Meter Maid.

Lorelai calls out to the Meter Maid, "Hi! Excuse me! Hey!"

Stage Direction: The Meter Maid stops writing and turns to Lorelai.

The Meter Maid asks Lorelai is this your boat?

Lorelai's response is that technically it is, yes.

Editor Note: Lorelai's speech to the Meter Maid is blacked out, but the length of it suggests it is a typical Lorelai Rambling Rant to the Meter Maid.

The Meter Maid tells Lorelai to put some money in the meter.

Lorelai says, "Yes, Ma'am."

Stage Direction: The Meter Maid moves off as Lorelai puts some quarters in the meter and then heads off down the street. As she does we pan over to the window of Luke's, where we see Luke inside taking an order. The balance if the Stage Direction is blacked out.

End of Casting Side for the Meter Maid

End of Scene 15

Editor Note: Scene 16 starts on the remainder of the page, but all is blacked out. On the next page the majority is blacked out until we pick up with Lane. The scene appears to be inside Luke's Diner.

Interior Assumed Luke's Diner - Time Unknown - Scene 16 -

Editor Note: Scene 16 in progress.

Stage Direction: Lane crosses to the front door. A big, burly male customer enters.

The customer asks Lane, "Sit anywhere?"

Lane is a near whisper tells him, "Uh...yeah listen. I will be back in fifteen minutes. Why don't you wait and let me seat you then."

The customer looks at Lane with, "What?"

Lanes tells him to just trust her.

The customer tells Lane to forget it that he is hungry now.

Lane says, "Okay. Anywhere is fine."

Stage Direction: Lane exits.

End of Casting Side for Customer

End of Scene 16

Exterior Luke's Diner - Continuous - Day (Day 4) - Scene 17 -

Editor Note: Scene 17 contains no dialog. The remaining Stage Direction for scene 17 on this page is blacked out. Scene 18 begins and all descriptions and dialog have been blacked out.

End of Casting Sides for 5.16 - Unnamed.

Where we left off
Lorelai and Luke were in love, while Rory and Dean were definitely not. And Norman Mailer made a guest appearance.

Coming soon
Expect the relationship between Rory and the free-and-easy Logan to begin blossoming. But like any Gilmore relationship, it will have loads of angst. Also this season, Luke's family survival skills will be put to the Gilmore test.

And they come back on Jan. 25th.

Northwest Herald

Two left feet

"Gilmore Girls" hunk Scott Patterson says learning how to ballroom dance for the Feb. 8 100th episode of the WB dramedy was painful – but mostly for those watching him.

"John Travolta I'm not," said Patterson. "I may get arrested by the Arthur Murray patrol and shipped off to a studio for emergency lessons. There were elbows and ankles flying all over the place. All the ballroom dancers were horrified. They were like 'Will you get that guy some medication and have him lie down! I can't be on the floor with something that spastic.' It was pretty grim."

The "Gilmore Girls" troupe only have nine more episodes to shoot for the season, and Patterson is mulling scripts for his hiatus. The only thing he knows for sure he'll be doing is continuing his work on behalf of Johns Hopkins Hospital.

"My brother-in-law is the head of pediatrics at Johns Hopkins, and my sister and he have been going around the country trying to raise $65 million to build a new children's hospital. They need $35 million more, so I'm planning to go to Baltimore during our hiatus for a big to-do with them."

'Gilmore Girls' Wedding Marks a Milestone
(Saturday, February 05 12:04 AM)

By Kate O'Hare
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) These days, if a show lasts into its fifth season, it's a TV miracle of considerable proportion.

Few know that better than Amy Sherman-Palladino, creator of The WB Network's "Gilmore Girls," which airs its 100th episode Tuesday, Feb. 8.

At first, she was just in it for the shoes.

"I didn't think we'd shoot the pilot," Sherman-Palladino says. "Then when we went up to Canada to shoot the pilot, I said, 'At least I got a free trip to Canada.' I'd never seen Toronto. I went shopping on Queen Street. I bought nine pairs of shoes in two weekends. How about that?

"So I figured, 'Hey, take some pictures, get some shoes.' Then they put us on, but they put us on opposite 'Friends,' so I figured, 'One season, you have a show on ... second season, OK, they'll cancel us midseason.' Now I'm, 'Well, maybe we'll get to the 100th episode. Who knows?' "

Having proved that negative thinking is no impediment to success, Sherman-Palladino then had to pick the story line for this milestone episode.

Sherman-Palladino went for a wedding. She is the writer and director of "Wedding Bell Blues," in which Richard and Emily Gilmore (Edward Herrmann, Kelly Bishop) -- parents of innkeeper Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and grandparents of college student Rory (Alexis Bledel) -- decide to renew their vows in a lavish ceremony.

Lorelai and Rory throw Emily an impromptu bachelorette party, which goes about as well as fans might expect. Then at the big ceremony, Rory's father, Christopher (David Sutcliffe), arrives.

The process begins with applause and cheering as the cast gathers over a tasty buffet of Chinese food for a read-through of the script. The actors deliver lines in their signature snappy fashion -- including Herrmann on the speakerphone -- and the reading is pretty entertaining even without props, costumes or sets.

A few days later, a fuzzy pink hat on her head, Sherman-Palladino sits in the director's chair at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles, where the wedding scenes are being filmed.

"We shoot here a lot," she says. "First, it's down the street from where I live. I walk to work. I love that."

On this day, there are loads of well-dressed extras; lovely tulle and ribbons draped everywhere around the elegant, dark-paneled interior; and huge bouquets of real roses.

Although she was an enthusiastic pessimist about her show's chances, that doesn't mean Sherman-Palladino didn't think she had five seasons of stories in her "mom and daughter who are best friends" concept for "Gilmore Girls."

"I've never pitched a show in my life that I couldn't see year five," she says. "When you do a good family show ... until people actually die off and are put in the ground, they're driving each other crazy. Even after they're dead, they've got all the baggage and the damage of the dead person. It goes on for generations."

Right now, Sherman-Palladino's main issue is a close-up that's just a little too close. "Way too tight," she calls out to the cameraman. "Serious intimacy issues here."

Great thread title.

WORD froukje and also netherfield regarding your comment about LG and the EPB

Gen you can probably take the pic of 5.11 teaser out of the Promo section since it isn't a spoiler anymore.

ETA: There seriously must be another one of Lauren's promo pics going around - we've seen the Scott shot before - Lauren as a the bitchy looking Lorelai one wasn't in the original lot.

Okay guys, you are now about to read what I consider to be my last stand. I’ve cooled down and reflected and tried to get past my intense hatred of Christopher and my even more rabid hatred of Chris and Lorelai together. I’ve decided to look at a few things from a storytelling perspective to come up with some speculation on how things will pan out given the spoilers we have. Also, I have to say that I think the LG comment and the new ad regarding choosing between Luke & Lorelai is a red herring regarding the status of their relationship.

What we’ve been shown so far between Lorelai and Chris gives us no indication that she still has lingering feelings for him. Quite frankly, I was very surprised yesterday that there was not a scene between them after she got to his parents house. If there were going to be a true question of her feelings for him, I would have expected some interaction between them, especially since things are going so extraordinarily bad for him right now. Instead, we got nothing but a casual dismissal of what transpired afterwards. The focus is completely on her relationship with Luke. If there was going to be any basis for Chris’s ridiculous assertion that they belong together, I think that it would have been written into the story. I was literally cringing when she entered his house and I was shocked that there wasn’t any follow up. Taking that in context with what we know about Come Home, where the only interaction with Chris is with Emily, from a storytelling point of view lends itself to Chris basing his opinion that he and Lorelai belong together purely on the past and nothing in the present that Lorelai has done. Now, I asked myself also, doesn’t the fact that Lorelai hasn’t told him about Luke, in itself, present some sort of encouragement to him? At first I thought yes, but then I thought, it’s not really Lorelai’s style to kick someone when they are down. She knows that he knows because Rory told him. It appeared to me last night that Lorelai hasn’t even talked to Chris since she blew off his call several weeks ago. I don’t see Lorelai having a conversation with him about Luke because she knows she will have to break it to him that it’s serious, which is the last thing he needs right now. I can see that rationale. We know that this approach actually ends up blowing up in her face in WBB, but at this point she probably feels it’s best not to open a can of worms. I don’t agree with it, but it fits with the Lorelai pattern.

What I think is curious about all of this is that these are all external factors that were going to affect Luke and Lorelai at some point. Their baggage is part of who they are. Lorelai is willing to accept and understand all of Luke’s pain over losing his parents. She is will to accept his grouchiness and gruffness and his failed marriage. He has to decide if he is going to accept Christopher. He can’t change Lorelai, these are decisions she has to make for herself. I actually think Chris will have made the decision for her with his hideous display at the end of WBB. His selfishness and classlessness will be laid out for her to see. The only difference this time is that it doesn’t just affect only her, it affects Luke too. Lorelai has been independent for so long that her twisted attachment to Christopher affected her and her kid only. Now it’s affecting a relationship that is very dear to her.

Lorelai screwed up big time by lying to Luke like she did. I think she knows it. And I think the minute she spurts it out at the wedding she’ll realize how badly. By then, it will be a fast descent into disaster for her. Trustworthiness is the backbone of any relationship and it is especially important to Luke. She will have cast that in doubt. He will have to evaluate whether he is ready to trust her again and if he can tolerate the obvious lack of respect of her parents. That is going to be huge also. I think that if Lorelai and Chris had absolutely any chance, there would have been more of an emotional build-up between them, and we haven’t seen that at all. DS was contracted for 7 episodes and that was plenty to illustrate more of a romantic bond between Lorelai and Chris. The writers have done it previously with less. There has been nothing to indicate that there could be a future with them, everything has been rooted in the past. I think with these upcoming episodes we will see that there is absolutely too much for them to get over to ever be together.

How long with the “break-up” last? From what I have read, I think the most recent episode sides will be the one with the reconciliation. I can’t imagine them dragging this our for more than 3 episodes. The wild card is Chris, there is no telling when or where he will pop up to finish his last two episodes.

Well guys, that is my take. I’m giving it a few more episodes the make a final judgment. Quite frankly, I am more interested in the episodes after the breakup that the one next week. We’ll just have to see how long I my last shred of optimism can hold me over.

Thanks for all the spoilers and clips everyone!!

Awwwww... Lauren Graham has bummed most of us out. (Based on her comments about who she thinks Lorelai should end up with)

But, seriously, I'm not going to take what she says to heart. Let's look at the facts:

1) As others have said, LG is not the writer for this show. ASP is. And, ASP has told us that Luke and Lorelai are the couple to root for. Which is what I've done since the beginning, what I am doing now, and what I will continue to do in the future. Period.

2) Lauren has never rooted outright for one couple or another. From what I've read, she really enjoys working with David Sutcliffe, so I'm not surprised that she thinks Chris and Lorelai are compelling together. But, she's not stupid. She knows just as well as the rest of us where this is headed. She may have just said that about Chris and Lorelai to keep the possibility alive – and make us all suffer in the process! Or, who knows, maybe in Lauren’s demented world Lorelai and Chris really do belong together? But, that’s only her opinion. And, frankly, Lauren herself admits that she has no say in how this show is written. Gilmore Girls is ASP’s vision. And, in ASP’s view Luke is the guy Lorelai should be with – she’s said it herself. So THERE! lol

3) David Sutcliffe is only on for a few more episodes this season. For Chris and Lorelai to ultimately end up together, he would have to become more than just a recurring character. He’d have to make us believe that Lorelai would give up on Luke – give up on the one man who has ALWAYS been there for her – for Christopher. Christopher would have to be portrayed as an equal or greater than Luke. And, personally, I don’t think that could ever happen. We’ve been shown Luke’s love and compassion for Lorelai for almost 5 years on a consistent basis. Unless this show lasts another 2-3 years, there is no way that Christopher could do enough good deeds to make up for his past misgivings.

4) Last but not least, if ASP ultimately put Lorelai with Christopher, she would have deal with the wrath of millions of fans who suffered for 4 years waiting for Luke and Lorelai to get together. She would let all of us down – people who stuck with this little show in hopes of the happy ending. To not give that to us would be really cruel. And, I just don’t see it happening. I don’t think ASP is that big a glutton for punishment.

Okay, so now that the facts have been presented, the arguments have been made, I think the clear verdict is that Lorelai WILL end up with Luke.

Keep the faith people. Keep the DAMN faith!!!!

I'll make a bet though if the show does go to a 6th season - David will be back - because there's no way after this season he'll go MIA again and his relationship with Rory goes down the drain yet again. Even if it is to fully repair his relationship with Rory - you need to at least see him once or twice to know he's still around as her father

OK, kind of adding my $.02 to the discussion on the last thread re:LG's comments.

1)I think its obvious that the majority of her statement was about ratings.

2) I think that part of her statement, about wanting the "biological family" back together wasn't all about Luke and Lorelai. I mean, think about it. She gets the chance to put a little bit of her opinion out there,so she expresses it...and I think that this comment came not from the show, but her own life. I'm sure that at times, there has been a part of her that has wanted her own parents to reconcile and be a family together. Now I remember reading that she has the whole stepparent half/step siblings now,and I'm sure that she loves them and wouldn't trade them in,but as Im sure MANY people here can attest to, there's always a part of a divorced child's mind that thinks about having their natural parents back together, even though logically its not what you want or know is best.

And I think that thats where that statement came from, rather than innuending that she secretly thinks David is hotter than Scott and that she's going to send Amy stinkbombs until she writes Lorelai with Chris.(which is the thought thats festering in our minds, lets admit it).

3)Besides, just b/c she likes the actor, likes working with him,and would like to see their characters together, doesn't mean that she also doesn't like Scott, working with him,or their characters together. The best analogy I have to this right now is where I'm at with Rory...I like both Logan and Marty equally at this point, and either of them would be fine with me.

Do I think Lauren is as invested in L/L as we JJ's are?No. Do I think she's as invested in Chris as the BB's are? Probably no, also. I think she is looking at her job aspect of the storyline and enjoys having multiple opportunities for different acting ranges. But I think that she enjoys playing either scenario just as well as the other, and she'll give 100% to her job, even if ASP tells her that she's turning her character into a lesbian recluse who breeds goats for a living.(No offense to anyone, just an out there analogy).

Finally,as others have said,if this still doesnt comfort you, remember, ASP is the writer. If LG decided that she was crazy about DS and ran off with him in real life,it doesnt matter. Its ASP's story that we fell in love with and invested in,not the actors in their real lives.

Oh please. Like we haven't seen that storyline played out a million times before!

J/K. Great post as usual, Sunbird
