The Costume/Merchandise Thread

It seems that the previous thread was pruned out, so I started a new one. If you need help with a costume or just want to show off your HP things, go ahead!

Now, here's my problem. I need to make a Durmstrang outfit, so if anyone has any tutorials on how to make a general HP costume, that would be awesome. I'm a newbie, so go easy on me.

I once posted a website where you could buy Hogwarts scarves or just the yarn to make it and my computer crasehd so I lost all my favorites, including that site. I really wanted to get one and I finally have money so does anyone know the site by any chance?

I want a new PoA movie style Gryffindor scarf but all the ones I've seen on eBay are made of wool and I can't wear it

Rattus Norvegicus - I've dressed as Moaning Myrtle a few times before, would any info about that costume be helpful to you?

They do the scarfs here too - http://www.hpwizardstore.com/ - but they're 100% wool too.

Actually, I think it would. I mean, robes and stuff are pretty standard, right? We don't get any info other than that they're bloodred. So if you've still got it, I think that would be really helpful.

Wool sucks, I can't wear it either. It itches and I get a rasch. :/ Aren't there any cotton scarves around though? I'll have a look around, see if I can find anything.

And åplease, call me Maik.

Maik - here's a picture of me as Moaning Myrtle, I went for the no robe look because I didn't have a robe. I'm assuming you'd require a skirt and sweater (maybe socks?) in blood red. Over here in the UK you could probably get those is any school unform store. I'm not sure where you are but do you have school unform stores there?

Yeah, it's annoying that they don't do the new PoA style scarfs in acrylic (or anything that's not wool) but I do have a previous movies/book style Gryffindor scarf which is acrylic.

We don't wear schooluniforms here, so no store. :/ But yeah, I'm thinking along those lines too. I actually found a site yesterday which sold acrylic housescarves, but they were expensive. Here's the site:

Harry Potter coffee mugs with lids!

There are lots and lots of Harry Potter mugs out there, but I need one that has a lid and is spillproof. Has anyone seen any?
