Chick flicks... Love 'em or hate 'em?

I love chick flicks, but I don't know about you...
And if you do love 'em...
What's your favourite?

Mine is ten things I hate about you...

I always say I don't like them but...really I do. My favourite chick flick is probably 'The Truth About Cats and Dogs'. I somehow never get sick of watching it. Janeane Garafolo is very watchable and it's such an adorable movie.

Of course...

And sorry about the teen comedy/chick flick movie thing...

I love the truth about Cats and dogs too...
I just never get the part on the phone...
I wouldn't do that at all...

Love chick flicks! My favorite would probably have to be Sweet Home Alabama or Bridget Jones's Diary.

Don't hate them, but don't love them either. I'm pretty indifferent. I can watch a few certain ones occasionally, but even the better ones won't impact me (like buying the DVD).

I don't generally love or hate them. Like all genres of movies, it depends on how good it is to me. I know a lot of people think A Walk To Remember is too cheesy and ugh...but I actually liked it very much. Not because of "awww.....it's so sweet.....", but because it was good story telling and it was done in a way that make people care about the characters. Like, I didn't feel forced to sympathize with the characters. Whereas chick flicks like The Wedding Planner, Here on Earth, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days etc. try too hard to manipulate the audience. It was like telling the audience: "here's the part that you should laugh even though it's not funny", "here's the cute part but not really", "here's the part where you should feel the heartbreak but you don't care".....

BTW, I feel sorry for guys who get dragged into the theatre by girls to watch chick flicks. I sat next to one before. His girlfriend was ecstatic but he looked like he wanted to die.

Depends on the movie. Some are good, some aren't. Just depends on the story.

I know what you mean... I feel so sorry for the guys who don't want to watch them, but HAVE to anyways...
But some movies just have to been seen by both male and female...

And I know what you mean when you say that they try too hard, they make the movie in a way that everybody cries at the same time and laughs at the same time...

Another good movie to watch Center Stage ...
It is actually a balletmovie, but I simply love ballet so that would explain it...

I love chick flicks, especially teen movie ones. Down to You and Here on Earth are my favorites.

Is Gone With the Wind a chick flick? If so, it is really good. There are a lot of old movie chick flicks like My Best Girl. *sigh*
