Btw, some fans were angry that Poe, Finn and Rose were left out of the poster and automatically assumed it was a racist thing, obviously It's not of course, and here is an explanation from the author:

I swear, there are days I'm truly embarrassed to be a part of this fandom. If Reylo and Han/Leia weren't so good together, I don't think I'd still be here.

Some people still don't seem to understand that fact, that it's a Skywalker Saga, so no Finn and Poe won't be on a poster about Skywalkers, when they have basically nothing to do with Ben. It also only makes sense that the main romantic couple will involve a Skywalker.



Btw, as I wrote it, it reall hit me, that Finn and Poe really don't seem to be connected at all with the main conflict. That's kinda odd...

I'm a Finn/Rose fan, and can completely understand that Kylo & Rey are at the CENTER of these sequels. Didn't JJ Abrams say the same damn thing in the TFA commentary?

I don't remeber what JJ said in the commentary, but it's been said many times by mulptiple people already, people just don't wanna listen.

I remember JJ Abrams saying something like "let's get back to the heart of the story, the thing we care about the most - Rey and Ren" and he did several Disney comparisons to them as the "Dark Prince" and "Cinderella"... I'm just so bored of people who feign ignorance to these key descriptions of Reylo as the centerpiece of the story. It's the same as denying that Anakin and Padme were in love.

Oh, that It's funny, because they weren't subtle about it since the beginning, but I guess some people took JJ's line as them being the brother and sister or cousins of this trilogy and now can't shake it off.

Star Wars has opted for the more dangerous options (Han/Leia, Ben/Rey) which I personally appreciate

^This "fandom" is just so toxic, I feel sick how are these people even call themselves "fans". Doesn't the word actually means that you like something? And are you even a fan if you like only three, the OT, of all SW movies?


And yes, I love that SW isn't afraid to take the more dangerous routes, that's also the reason why the fandom is so divisive.

To be quite honest, if it wasn't for the fact that:

...I probably would have been out of his fanbase after The Force Awakens.

Believe me, TFA got the same amount of hate and backlash as TLJ, just in a different manner. It's why JJ Abrams removed himself from twitter shortly after it came out.

Didn't know that JJ removed himself from Twitter after TFA backlash, but I'm glad then even after this, he's still making Episode IX after all his comments, I trust him with Reylo

JJ got backlash from doing something that mirror A New Hope too closely. Rian got backlash from doing something completely different and out of the box. It's impossible to please everyone
