Maria, I'm sorry to hear that. Is it possible to stage an intervention? Perhaps if a few of you bring it up to her at the same time she'll understand? Or would that not end well? I'd hate to see you lose a good friend. is this the one that's always in the pix with you?

Steph, that's an actual picture. Most lolcat pictures are real....it's what makes it fun.

*pokes Juli*

Juli,Steph~ She's never actually used your mama insults,I just meant that's the kind of replies you get from her...and she's the same age as me,so you can't blame her immaturity on that...you're so right Juli, basicly when you disagree with her she's like "yeah but you're so weird" meaning your opinion doesn't matter...once we were visiting Tallinn with her and a couple of other friends and my leg was busted so I couldn't walk very fast (she walks *really* fast) so she and another friend walked like so much ahead of me and another girl and we mentioned to her about slowing down, her reply to me? "well you can't control how fast you talk either" (yeah I'm a fast talker...) but what's that got to do with my busted leg!? this is just one of many many situations over the years, things just culminated when we vacationed together so it really started to bug me...I'm ranting, sorry

Jerry ~ Noo,an intervention would not be a good idea...she won't understand and it really wouldn't end well...well she really wasn't a good friend on our vacation, you should have heard the things she did and how she acted at times...and no,that's not her, that's my best friend, she's like most considerate friend a girl could have, who's always there for you whenever you need her! thanks for the hug though

Play fighting is one thing.

Maria, that is horribly annoying. And so inconsiderate.
It's ok to vent. We're here to listen.

Jerry, those 2 tops ones are funny.
Damn that 3rd pic is huge.

Maria--sorry about the friend issues. If there is no way to approach her, and talk to her, then perhaps you could slowly faze her into a lesser role in your life?

I try to be pretty charitable with others--and I hope they are with me. Some people just suck waaaaay too much time and energy though. You might try to stay friendly acquaintances with her, and leave it at that.

For example (somewhat related story here) I had a friend who for some reason got really competitive with me, and it was annoying. Every time I mentioned one of my kids was sick, hers would be puking all over and have it 10x worse. Anytime I mentioned something with my house--she had it worse. It got to the point, where I couldn't tell her anything without her telling me she was worse off in some way (or better in some way on the flip side). When we were pregnant, she even took the two names I was considering for my son and used them BOTH on her kid.

It got bad enough I just had to pull back. I still talk to her, but she's not the close confidant she was. I don't tell her certain things anymore (especially baby names when we were pregnant again at the same time), and I just plan on the fact that when I do talk to her, she's going to try and one-up me.

So maybe you can find a way to pull back a little too?

Good luck no matter how it goes down.

Ah, Dane Cook has a whole skit about friends like that. Which is then followed by a skit about how there's always one person in every group who everyone secretly hates. I remember it well, because my best friend and I just looked at each other and burst out laughing. It's so true, and I know that we were both thinking of the same person at the same time.

*slaps Jerry*

That is what I would do.

That sounds sooooo familiar, like Steph said, like a lot of relatives, everytime someone says they're sick they're like 'well Im worse off' being sick is not a competition people

Maria your friend seems a bit inconsiderate, she shouldnt be saying those things when your legs busted,

I know! Instead offer ways/advice to get better.

It is such a hot day here. And inside the AC is too high and I have a sweater on

I've got a grandma who is always dying. For like, the past ten years she's been dying. When did hypochondria become fashionable?

Jerry, you poked me.

Aww. That is no way to live.

I love 3 day weekends. Question for Americans, what are you all doing for Labor Day?

Awwwww, is poor Juli ticklish? Hrm? Sides? Legs? Where at? HUH?

so, Jill's team is playing for the championship in the tourney. They went 3-0-1 in the four games and play tomorrow @ 9:15. We're hoping for a win.

Jerry, that wasn't the direction I was going in, but I'm insanely ticklish. And I HATE to be tickled.

Good luck at the game!

Steph, I agree. And I'm working on Labor Day. What are you doing?

it's soccer, and she lost, 2-1 in over time, but she was stoked that she still got a trophy.

Oh, it's not the way you were going Juli? Ponders the ways she could have meant and how evil it can be.

*tickles Juli*
