I loved Labyrinth....such a great movie, and such a creepy character. Jennifer Connelly before she got all artsy.

Hiya Dev! How's the family doing?

Kara, you've not read Harry Potter? And you think that Twilight is good? OMG>...you better start reading it....or you're in trouble.

Sheida, so when are you getting engaged?

Who's watching the Olympics? I think a bunch of countries have won at least 1 metal, which is great news.

Twilight isn't about vampires, it's about teenagers with sharp teeth.
Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

Sounds like I need to talk to her, then. I just couldn't stand how she was madly in love and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him just after like...what, a week him of glaring at her? She's too clingy for my liking.

Jerry - What, am I in trouble now? I'm watching what Olympics events I can...like volleyball, and swimming.

Sheida, good for you. He's so not the best character.

Kara, it's scary how needing Bella is. I still can't get over Edward taking about her car so she couldn't see Jacob and her not caring. I would KILL my boyfriend if he did that to me.

Jerry, YAY LABBY!!!! That movie rocks out loud.

I've read The Merchant of Venice and I'm still confused. IMO, the main theme of the play is vengeance. At first I was like, "okay, the Volturi want vengeance, so does Irina." Except Irina clearly didn't want vengeance too badly, and The Volturi were more envious than vengeful.
Are there any characters with double identities? Or trying to escape?

Or maybe Sheida is on to something.

Well with your parents being cool they can tell grandma to lay back and let Sheida be.

You should stop by the Ewan board.
Or you can bring it up on Cloud 9. She goes there. (Lilmouse)

Bella is unhinged.
Clearly.

Juli, I know! I'd be spit full and walk to La Push. And scream at Edward on my way there.

That's cool Jessica.

Ugh, I hate that all my books are packed. I don't have immediate access to Merchant, but if I recall correctly the Jewish character Shylock might be a mirror for that Casius (sp?) guy. Shylock is angered by the way he's been treated and demands a "pound of flesh" from his foe (I forget the dude's name). That's the only connection I could think of.

Then again, I could be forgetting someone. Play's got more drama than the Young and the Restless.

Kara, you're in trouble for not reading Harry Potter....you simply must. It's a far better book than Twilight, and is a very quick read.

Juli, absolutely, it's all about the goblins really. I loved guys.

Does anyone here like lolcats? I eez sleepy. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Jerry, you mean it's all about David Bowie and his epic hair. Love it.

For serious! I couldn't believe that Bella wasn't even angry with him! And Charlie offered to drive her and she's was just all "nevermind."

I'm watching Dark Angel reruns on Scifi right now and I swear I don't remember them being this cheesy. Strange. At least there is some eye candy a la Jensen Ackles to look at

<---- Does this smiley make anyone else uneasy?? It seems so unnatural . . .

I know. She let it go in 2 seconds and re-opened the window.
She probably knew he could hear and would break Charlie's car too..

Oh and Stephenie explained the Merchant of Venice.
It is foreshadowing that the end will not be a physical fight but a legal battle.
You can hear more of her Breaking Dawn answers here

Her reasoning for not having a battle is stupid.

I don't know how I feel about a Leah book. She doesn't feel like a significant enough character for me.

Thanks for the link Steph. Did you pick up on her "masochistic pleasure"? I think the word she was looking for was sadistic. I have so much trouble taking her seriously... I feel bad for saying that because she is a person with real feelings, but I can't take her books seriously and that just rubs off on her in my mind.

I adore David Bowie.

This is true, but I would have at least made Edward work for it. I would have made him take apart Charlie's car, and kept my window closed, and ignored him for like a month.

and then I would have chosen Jacob just to spite him.

Have you started reading The Host yet?

If you say so. . . Let's just agree that they're both weird. Now tell me this doesn't freak you out --->

That Stephenie Meyer interview was kind of uncomfortable to watch -- she looked like she wanted to get up and run out of there. Probably hard to answer question after question of what people thought was wrong with her books and didn't make sense. She didn't really give me an adequate answer for how Bella could get pregnant -- the whole "fluids" thing
