| My only real desire is to see vampire!Bella. Other than that I'm just meh about the new book. As I've said before, I wasn't a big fan of Eclipse (though I love Twilight and New Moon) so I'm a little disenchanted. __________________ Our meddling intellect Misshapes the beauteous forms of things We murder to dissect -Wordsworth | |||

I too want to see her change. If she doesn't I feel like the lead up in the books will be all a waste. But I don't see Meyer keeping her human. If the chess pieces on the cover say anything I think it signifies Bella's transformation, from a bloody pawn to a white Queen. Maria, not much.Got up early this morning and still trying to plan my day. __________________ ~Stephanie~ My Star Wars fanfic icon credit xswaniconsx

Fangirl? No, of course not! I actually think marriage is kind of corny (no offense Jerry ).Quote:
I did like how Bella matured, but for some reason the other characters' development did nothing for me. A lot of them seemed too different; Edward's supposedly bad-temper seemed way more mellow (and I liked his temper ). I'd always loved Alice and her demure, intelligent personality, but in Eclipse she was really hyper and a little too.... girly, for lack of a better word. The only thing I can find in common with Alice's character from Eclipse to the version in Twilight and New Moon is when she was stoked to help Bella with prom . Maybe it's because there was so much of her in this book that I just noticed it more. And I was a little upset that Jacob getting squished occurred off-page. What a gyp. I also felt gyped because I wanted the scene where they told Charlie ( ) and we didn't get that either.Quote:

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Man, you get sick for a few days and look at the stuff that comes up in this thread....angsty, teenie vampirism. Sigh. Ok, so I meant to post these on Friday, but I didn't get the chance. Lots of pix, including Aeryn's first hockey game ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Other than that, I turned down the job offer. The Rescinded the offer first, and re-issued it with lower pay. I wasn't happy about that, so I told them no. I should be getting another one this week or next. I hope. Maria, how's your side of the world going? Sheida, you keeping cool over there? Steph, have you switched over to the dark side yet? *snicker* <- out to go watch his girls. __________________ "Be quiet brain, or I'll stab you with a Q-tip!" | Master Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Isn't Breaking Dawn supposed to be from Edward's side of the story, or is that a different book? I enjoy the actually story behind Twilight, however, I've never been so annoyed with a main character before. Bella sooo whiney, needy, and clingy. Which is probably why I'm looking forward to the book from Edward's mind, instead. In my opinion, he's only attracted to her because of her blood, and her to him because he's a 'beautiful vampire'. Maybe once she goes through the transformation that'll all go away.Jerry - They're so cute! As always, but that hasn't changed. How was the hocky game?__________________ Sheldon: What if I choke on my popcorn? Who will administer the Heimlich Maneuver? Penny: Then don't get popcorn. Sheldon: No popcorn at the movies? Meyer is a huge romantic, I doubt it will go away. Even her sci-fi novel The Host (which was pretty good) had some really corny romance in it. But I DEFINITELY agree with you about the needy part, though with her admitting her "love" for Jacob her dependency was slightly less annoying. And Breaking Dawn is a different book, I think that the Edward book is next year.I think Bella matured well in Eclipse, but she is still one of my least fav female characters of any story. Maybe it's because I'm so used to strong women that she annoys me, or maybe it's her relationship with Edward. A few of my favorite pairings are Mulder/Scully, Han/Leia, Dean/Jo, all of which involve really strong women and the romance is just something on the side of the story. I'm mainly reading Breaking Dawn because I can't not finish a series once I start.Quote:
Come on Jerry, we all know Twilight's your favorite book. Don't even play.So speaking of angsty, teenie vampirism the creepiest thing just happened to me. My friend is driving me home after seeing a movie and this car starts tailgating us. So she slows down to be obnoxious, because that's what you do apparently, and the car keeps following us through like four stoplights before she goes to turn into our neighborhood. The car follows us into the neighborhood, and in the neighborhood's opening street there are two cars parked horizontally and blocking the road with their bright lights on. We stop and all four of us sit there for a moment until the two horizontal vehicles pull away and drive down the road and turn on to my street. we head that way and the car behind us keeps following and eventually turns on to my street as well, then another car pulls up behind him and heads down my road. By this time my friend and I are both thoroughly spooked so we pull into my driveway, kill the headlights and lock the doors then turn around to see what they do. The four other cars park at random areas up and down my street (one in front of my house). About 8-10 people pile out of the four cars (none of which could be any older than 18) and walk to the farthest house at the end of the cul de sac. They ring the doorbell (keep in mind that this is 12:30 a.m.) of a house that is home to a couple and a small child, but no one anywhere near the strange drivers' ages. The door opens and they all enter, close the door, and turn out the porchlight. It was the strangest thing I've ever seen. I just wanted to let you guys know in case you never hear from me again. Feel free to assume the worst, since I'm thinking satanic cult held every Monday night in my neighbor's basement.Nice pics, Aeryn's a really pretty name. __________________ Our meddling intellect Misshapes the beauteous forms of things We murder to dissect -Wordsworth Last edited by FreedomsBullets : 06-02-2008 at 10:23 PM.
