Yes, let's give another good hand to the wonderful people that got the board guide going.

Twilight isn't about vampires, it's about teenagers with sharp teeth.
Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

I'll second that. It's really useful. And thanks, everyone.

Hi guys! I'm new here, so I thought I should shortly introduce myself.

I'm a die-hard lover of the... old trilogy, that is episodes VI, V and VI.

I'm quite obsessed over the character of Han Solo and I cherish the complicated relationship between him, Luke and Leia.

I hope I can attend this forum quite frequently. I still have to tour around to see what threads about the old movies and characters are here, but I'm very hopeful to find what I'm looking for.

...editing my first post! I saw just a few posts below that there's a fantastic thread with the threads list! Great idea! I'll check it out right away!

Is there are particular thread for chat about the older Star Wars movies? I'm looking for threads, particularly about Empire Strikes Back (my all time fave film). Any help?

Welcome chrisoland I'm Stephanie.

There is the Star Wars Films General Discussion #5 thread that discusses all the films. You can also check the Star Wars Board Guide for all kinds of threads.
I hope that helps and you find some that catch your interest. I hope to see you around the board.

I have a question... I'll preface my question by stating that one of my biggest pet peeves is Padme dying in ROTS, thereby NOT giving Leia a chance to remember her, which Leia told Luke she did in ROTJ (I even wrote a speech on this that bothers me so much). I was wondering if Lucas Film has an official statement on how Leia could remember her mother and what that statement is? Of course, knowing won't change the fact that I'll disregard it and continue to view what happened in ROTS as a continuity error...but, still, I want to know. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Umm. I don't know what the official statement is. I can look into and get back to you.

I'm interested in the speech you wrote.

It had to be about a pet peeve and I chose to address continuity errors in Star Wars. I actually don't have a formal outline and the cards are long gone but, basically, I discussed Obi-Wan's lack of recollection concerining R2-D2 and Princess Leia remembering her mother though that could not be possible. I researched on the web but found the Lucas Film's "official" statment had disappeared, leaving me only with fan conjectures about how Leia's connection with the Force was so strong she remembered her mother OR Leia was actually remembering Breha Organa. I concluded my speech by saying that the errors bothered my but didn't diminish my love for Star Wars. That's...the short version of my speech.

Obi-Wan - I think he recollects R2. He just doesn't say it out loud.

Sounds like a good speech

I wonder if he says anything in the commentary about Leia's memories...?

In fact he does.

His claim is that Leia's force sensativity was allowing her to feel Padme's profound sadness over space and time.

Thanks for answering that question...but what a load. I don't believe it. Why couldn't Luke feel it too then? It's a cop out, IMO. And it makes me so angry.
