JJ was not making a sequel to TLJ, he was making a sequel to TFA. He only took some elements of TLJ, like the Force Skype teleporting. Everything else he trashed.

What you're claiming here is a perception that has been thoroughly disproven by statements from Rian Johnson, JJ Abrams, and Chris Terrio, all of whom have gone on the record stating that there is no contradiction between what we learn about Rey in The Last Jedi and what we learn about her in The Rise of Skywalker, and that is also disproven by TRoS itself as filmed.

Johnson has also gone on record stating that the ending image of the stableboy using the Force was not ever intended to be a comment on who can use that power, but was instead related to Luke's journey and the lingering presence of hope in the galaxy even in the face of the First Order having decimated the Resistance

Of course that is what Rian Johnson, JJ Abrams, and Chris Terrio are going to say because Disney paid them to say they are in harmony. They can never admit their true feelings.

I am not buying what they’re selling. I watched with my own eyes, listened with my own ears and formed my own opinions and perceptions.

Look, if you like the ST and feel fulfilled, good for you. I am happy for you

I am moving on from the Sequel trilogy because I thought it was a mess and I am going back to the parts of Star Wars I loved.

I didn't need Rian, JJ, and Chris to tell me that there weren't any contradictions between TLJ and TRoS; I figured that out just by watching the two films.

Rian, JJ, and Chris' comments on the matter just made what I saw with my own eyes concretely official.

I would have to agree with Steph on many points, especially with having Rey find out that she did not come from an influential family in the TLJ but then is told she descends from Palpatine

JJ definitely shat on Rian Johnson's storyline for her.

This is not what was happening in that scene at all.

Ben/Kylo does not tell Rey anything; he merely gets her to admit something she already knew but had been subconsciously denying, and then tries to use said admittance to manipulate her.

The Rise of Skywalker does not change the fact that her parents were insignificant "lowlifes" who abandoned her; it simply reveals that they chose that life and had ulterior motives for why they did what they did.
