I took this from This or that thread. There was Finn's and Rose's first meeting and Rey's and Poe's. I've read somewhere an interesting interpretation of the scene with Poe and Rey. The Last Jedi was about Rey's parentage and that she's a nobody. And in that scene, when she introduced herself to Poe as Rey and he said "I know", it meant the she's not nobody anymore, people know who she is and that's why there was the big smile from Rey at the end

Oh I hope I didn't come off as me hating on their scene cause I love it I just chose the Finn/Rose one because it was the beginning of their entire journey on the movie.

That's a good analysis of the Rey/Poe scene The fact that someone knows who she is (other than Finn and Kylo, because let's face it, Luke couldn't care less most of the time) was a big deal especially after everything she went through during the movie.

I think both Rey and Finn have that type of "awakening" throughout the movies, being either just a number or just a nobody, and Poe helped them both (Finn more in depth, and Rey with a quick line) realize that they matter regardless of where they came from

I get it. I liked the scene as well, eventhough I thought it was kind of pointless too before. But this makes sense in the context of her journey. And also Finn's, you're right

Just makes me wonder if they have a planned out purpose for him in the last movie (regardless if it's with Rey or Finn or whatever) considering he wasn't part of the original plan to stick around...
