If they become romantically involved, their bond wouldn't be ruined, they'd still be friends. I don't think anything romantic is going to happen between them in the Last Jedi though.

Might be even better, just focus on the characters, give them indidivudal storylines, let them evolve and find their own paths.

If at all that's the great thing about all the movies - barely was felt the romances was there but not overly or forced

Which why again classic of the originals even they did it good-ish enough with the Prequels

Yeah it has its highlights But I like the sequels more even though we've only had TFA so far
