Sorry to hear that and I’ll always be here :)

My objection wasn't just to this one instance, but rather to a general practice on some people's part of praising/defending stuff on the unappreciation threads. It was ruining the threads. Unappreciation threads aren't for what you like, they're for what you dislike.

But I see no reason why anybody has to leave the board over this. I don't see why following the rules is such a big issue. So many posters have enjoyed posting on FF while following the rules. The rules are the foundation of FF. If you post on FF you learn not to break the rules or you get kicked off. And that's not hard for most people. It's not a big deal.

Let’s just move on and go back to unappreciation of prequels  move past it

Sounds fine to me. :)

The thing that really got me about the Prequels was that each one was a step worse than the last one. I wasn't terribly impressed with TPM, but I was able to convince myself it was a Star Wars movie. It had Liam Neeson and Natalie was very good. But when AOTC came around I knew Star Wars was screwed. It was an empty load of bull. The romance was garbage. Hayden was incredibly bad. Yoda was made a joke of in that ridiculous lightsaber battle. So I expected ROTS to be just as bad. To my shock it was far worse, plumbing levels of lameness not before seen. Hayden surpassed himself in awfulness. Palpatine disintegrated into a hammed-up joke. Padme was reduced to a moron and killed off in a misogynistic manner when OT canon said she had survived a while longer. Yoda was an even worse joke than in AOTC. The film preached the message that love is bad and makes you kill kiddies. Anakin's turn to the Dark Side was unconvincing. Everything looked like cgi, even the live action characters. The lightsaber battle at the end, along with the Yoda fight it was intercut with, stands as one of the worst scenes in cinema history. The dialogue was dreadful. One reviewer accurately observed that Lucas reduced the characters to cardboard cutouts. It was one or the most incredible examples of bad moviemaking that I've ever come across. I can never believe it when people claim to see it as the best of the Prequels. It was dreadful beyond belief.

It is a bigt deal when people like you don't allow people like me to not compare things and talk about what I thnk is better or worse. Like there is no thread where I could do this without apparently breaking the rules. Bc if we did this convo in the seuqel unappreciation it would still be the same thing. Me and some other ff members moved away from here bc we thought many of the rules are nonsense. I'm only still around here bc some nostalgic people I like simply can't move on to our much more free personal forum we founded. Else I#d have long left FF again. It's outdated.

I could never leave :ff: :look:

Think comparing prequel and sequel duels could be done as long as it doesn’t touch thinking or seeming like you are trying to “appreciate” the prequels  like comparing the 2 but still being as you un-appreciation both

maybe that’s the tricky cause I still liked some prequels duels/qualities where I know to keep any appreciation into the appreciation thread  but at the same time I can understand where end of RoTS I can still discuss the understanding of the end duels feeling long and repetitive etc

Don’t want to limit but in each try as much on topic as possible  like can still say compared to the prequels the sequels have had much less duels  Trying to find some common ground without stepping on either toes cause I really could use the posters on the board obviously

So don’t like seeing this going at each other where seems you both are strong opinionated personalities that are clashing where would hope to find a even ground to find away to move on from the conversation if possible  or find a common ground of understanding

There's a general discussion thread where Ig238 could have his discussion without mucking up the unappreciation threads.

http://www.fanforum.com/f99/star-war...c%5D-63216425/

I'm not stopping anybody having any sort of discussion, I'm just insisting the Unappreciation threads stay unappreciation threads.

crash landing 11-03-2019 01:00 PM

That is a good point about the General Discussion  on if able to keep the unappreciation to just comparing of the duels as a whole type thing  cause can talk duels of all 3 trilogies together in General. As you know, I’m wary of unappreciation outside of unappreciation. Again as you know, it’s not trying to govern or limit but it’s more still trying to figure out the extent of what can and can not outside of unappreciation

It’s the first time have had to deal with unappreciation and a strong criticism and I’m alone where I want the board to succeed and still trying to find my footing :bawl: so bare with me and harder cause STILL no computer and phone posting still

Also we are like 320 :bawl: can you do me a big one and start a new thread?

sum1 11-03-2019 01:47 PM

Criticism has always been allowed on all threads of this board except appreciation threads. You can ask Tar or Jerry D if you don't believe me. I was mod here for 5 years and poster here for longer and that's the way it's always been.

New thread:

Thanks for the new thread :melt: I’ll leave this open a little in case any quoting to take over to new one

As a new mod here I am going over the Board Guide to update it.

Ok, I see why Sarah left the board open, but some time has past and I am closing this thread.
