Mostly the chemistry and the potential. By the end of the movies I realized I liked their scenes more than Anakin/Padme. I thought she was stronger around him.

Re the thread title: That sounds lke a painful physical ailment. Though considering how Padme came across in ROTS, "My brain has started to separate" might be more appropriate. ;)

Padme/Obi Wan point of note: It was Padme who decided to go rescue Obi Wan in AOTC when Anakin didn't want to. The scene when she decides to do that is my favorite AOTC Padme moment. She's more like TPM Padme there than she usually is in AOTC and ROTS.

Notable point: Obi Wan came across more capable of fathering children than Anakin. Perhaps he's Luke and Leia's true father? ;) (Otherwise it's Yoda.)
