There wouldn't be much to tell with the older version of Obi-Wan. It's the in between story that's unknown.

Obi Wan got older during the in-betrween period. so there's plenty use for Alec.

They could do it with Alec playing him. Sort of. There are ways to get performances out of dead actors. They did it with Oliver Reed in Gladiator.
