"Obi-Wan Kenobi, later known as Ben Kenobi during his exile, was a legendary Jedi Master who played a significant role in the fate of the galaxy during the waning days of the Galactic Republic. He was the mentor of both Anakin and Luke Skywalker, training both in the ways of the Force. He had a long and tumultuous career that helped shape the fate of the entire galaxy." [x]

Do any of you happen to know what Sir Alec Guiness thought of George Lucas doing the prequels. I think he passed after Episode I was released.

He died in 2000. He didn't like Ewan being cast as his younger self. He thought they looked nothing alike.

Ok, thank you for your reply. I had always wondered what he thought of Ewan. A Pity he didnt get to see him with the beard.

He was prone to be critical about matters concerning Star Wars. I think he felt it was all beneath him, not like his "serious" films. But I've watched those films and I think Star Wars is his best work. That statement would make him spin in his grave, btw.

Yeah I try to pretend that he didn't say bad things about SW when I'm watching the OT so I can fully enjoy the character and his performance. It's too bad he couldn't enjoy that himself.

Yeah thats along the lines of what Ive heard as well, sum1. I also heard it made him live a very comfortable lifestyle towards the end of his life.
