Agreed, by the third movie I really liked him.

He really matured into the Jedi you see in Episode 4

In my opinion anyway.

And I thought the maturing was organic and well written. It wouldn't be that interesting to watch if he had showen up in episode 1 already with all the wisdom he had in the original trilogy.

Agreed, I thought he was one of the best written characters in the prequel trilogy.

Definitely. It was probably the only performance that added something special enough to the character to influence me when I rewatch the original trilogy. I actually think about Ewan a lot when I'm watching episodes IV, V and VI, in the Old Ben scenes (I call him that to refer to the old Kenobi, it's easier ).

Agreed. In one of the special features on the Blu-Ray collection Ewan says he had them make a dvd of all of Alec'as parts in Star Wars so he could study it.

I think it payed off.

That's really cool. I really like him as an actor.

Does anyone know if Alec and Ewan were ever in the same room together ? I'd love to find a picture or something, but I'm guessing it never happened.

I doubt it.

From what I understand Alec started really disliking Star Wars.
I could be wrong though

Yeah I read some comments about that. He sounded very bitter about it I guess he didn't like being defined by that role. But he was a little extreme in his comments.

Yeah and it's not like it's a bad thing. I mean, being eternally recognized as Obi-Wan Kenobi is pretty freaking awesome if you ask me.

It's a pity he couldn't see the worth of Star Wars. There's more to Star Wars than The Bridge Over the River Kwai.

It's got an important subject matter, but it's overrated.

Well regardless of his negative feelings towards SW he still played the character really well.
