Yoda could've been talking about C-3PO, if we think about parenthood in the sense of "creating" something. But I doubt it.

Plus they were really pushing Han/Leia in Empire. I mean, Leia kisses Luke...as revenge!

That said, it's easy for me. I knew they were brother and sister before I ever saw Star Wars because I was born when Jedi came out and God only knows where I learned they were brother and sister. Despite that, it still wasn't as obvious as "Palpatine is Sidious!"

Re: L/L fanfics, I think this is a case where Star Wars upped the ante for edginess in ships. The original trilogy didn't have any real slash potential, though Robot Chicken has done a pretty good Han/Boba Fett sketch. (Basically Boba Fett makes out with Frozen!Han.) Instead, it had a canon ship that turned out to be brother and sister. These days, as slash is becoming more accepted, incest is the genre to flame. (I'm normally open-minded, and unlike slash, the whole concept of incest strikes me as icky.) But that's all for fanfic writers to decide on.

I doubt they meant C-3PO. They need someone strong in the Force to defeat the Sith.

Those were funny.

I have seen Luke/Han shipper fics.

I couldn't read an incest fic. No way.

I still can't believe they went with the idea of Anakin building not only a droid as a child, but C-3PO. (At least Lucas had the sense to wipe his memory at the end. That would've left the obvious unanswered question: "Why the hell didn't C-3PO tell Luke all about this earlier? The droid normally can't shut up for five seconds."

Luke/Han? I can't really see that, except maybe "Then I'll see you in hell."

Seriously, the only Star Wars slash I took seriously was AniObi. Which is ironic, since Anakin is the only male in the series (not counting Cliegg Lars or other "extras with names") who canonically has children. (The EU changes all that with those Solo kids.)

As for incest, yeah, it's pretty squicky.

No slash or incest fics for me. I forgot about Luke/Han though. Is that one any popular? I have an odd feeling it would be.

Well they spent that night in the cold on Hoth.
And then they shared a look when they said goodbye before the Battle of Hoth.
And Han saved Luke's behind when he blew up the Death Star.

But Han/Leia is the most popular of the OT

The good things about droids - they can be mind wiped.

Well, it is the canon one. Plus, Leia's probably the only one that can straighten him out. (None of the other characters, EU or otherwise, struck me as strong-willed enough.)

I read on Wookieepedia that the EU finally involves R2-D2 spilling the beans. The little droid guards his memories of Padmé very carefully.

Yea, in the --Dark Nest trilogy.
R2 is a sneaky one.

Leia is Han's soul mate

Haha yeah I like Han/Leia but I could see why Han/Luke is tempting too.

Wait, R2 D2 still had Padme memories?

Okay, a bit of a computing lesson here:

People think of the brain as a computer, but that's not exactly true. Organic methods of storage are...random, and can forget things. (And of course, we can remember images most easily, followed by sentences, and then numbers, because images are the most native to us, with literally hundreds of millions of years of evolution. Computers, on the other hand, store everything as numbers, so it shouldn't be surprising that one pixel is the equiivalent of any number from 0 to 4294967296 or -2147483648 to 2147483647.) Computers (and droids) don't forget unless either 1) they're ordered to (to free up space, or to hide something), or 2) they're damaged in some way. And yes, I know R2 took a laser blast in A New Hope. And was attacked by a swamp monster in Empire. And was attached to a magnet in Jedi.

(By the way, simply hitting delete won't hide anything; it simply makes it possible for the space to be overwritten. But the way computers are today, it's harder than hell to overwrite the entire hard drive.)

I figure Luke turns R2 into a living (more or less) holocron, but I haven't read Legacy yet to confirm my suspicions. That's what I'd do, if I were a Jedi Master with a droid I were attached to.

Wow, that was an impressive detailed explanation.

I was just going to say, RS memory was never wiped and the droid knowing the information was secretive encoded it.

Thanks for the lesson. A lot of that actually makes sense. R2 D2 would have memories of Padme ofcourse but it's not like he would choose to talk about them with about a few select people who could mainly Luke (I think Anakin knew droid too?)

He also knew the information would be painful for Luke and Leia to see so he purposely hid them away.

I was primarily going over the differences between organic and electronic memory. (Electronic memory can still fail; CDs only last about 20 years.)

I always assumed X-wings were equipped with a translator.

Of course, knowing that your father killed your mother would just be too painful, especially on top of everything else he did. (Dude blew up a planet in front of Leia.)

They do. You see one in ESB in Luke's X-Wing talking to R2 over Degohbah.
