Star Wars Adventures: Tales from Vader’s Castle creative team wanted Dooku to look like Dracula

Quote:
“From the cave on Dagobah in The Empire Strikes Back to visions of Sith spectres in The Clone Wars animated series, Star Wars has long been strong with the spooky side of the Force. That’s never been more apparent, or more beautifully celebrated, than in IDW Publishing’s current five-issue comic book miniseries Star Wars Adventures: Tales from Vader’s Castle. The story follows a rebel crew that crash-lands on maybe the creepiest of all Star Wars locales: Mustafar, the lava planet that’s also home to Darth Vader’s towering castle on a (molten) hill. As the ragtag group tries to survive the world’s harsh conditions and make their way into the imposing structure, they share scary stories from across the timeline of Star Wars. It’s perfect for Halloween season, and something that fans of all ages can enjoy. Issue #3 arrives today, and StarWars.com is celebrating the comic series’ midpoint in spooktacular fashion — we’ve asked series writer Cavan Scott to take us inside Vader’s Castle, as it were, showing us the process from script to finished page, complete with his own commentary and a first look at what horrors await in issues #4 and #5. Enjoy…if you dare! […]

I think Christopher Lee did play Dracula in his younger days.

Mustafarians fight the Empire in Star Wars Adventures: Tales From Vader’s Castle #5 preview

Quote:
From Coffee With Kenobi:

"It’s a literal delve into the dungeon, Star Wars style, as Lina Graf, Crater, G3, Skritt and Lt. Hudd contend with the residents of Fortress Vader and the not-so-pleasant relationship with the neighboring Mustafarians, too, in the fifth and final issue of IDW Publishing’s Star Wars Adventures: Tales From Vader’s Castle. The issue is written by Cavan Scott and features art by Derek Charm and Charles Paul Wilson III, with colors by Charm and Michael Devito. Letters are handed by Robbie Robbins and editorial duties are handled by Elizabeth Brei and Denton J. Tipton.

The issue will be in comic shops and on Comixology.com on Oct. 31.

For a preview, read on. (The last two pages are part of a double-truck two-page spread.)"

New Star Wars: Age of Republic covers revealed

Quote:
From Jedi-Bibliothek (imperfectly translated from german):

"We will get in touch with the topic "Comics" today! This mainly concerns Variant covers and anthologies of Marvel, but a bit of IDW Publishing is also included. Let's start with the pure eye candy - Variant covers for Age of Republic: Qui-Gon # 1 and Star Wars # 58, which were unveiled via PREVIEWSworld.

These volumes each collect the four heroes and villains books, and according to current planning the special is also included in the villains volume, but we consider this to be provisional. The special issue also contains two hero and villain comics, so we expect a distribution of the content across both volumes.
