That's a good point. The first and foremost important thing is that he learns how to be happy with his true identity. No more hiding behind a villainous facade. I want to see that look of relief on his face when he fully embodies Ben Solo again.

Yes, and I think he realized that in their last TLJ scene together when Rey looks at him with what appears to be disappointment. He had expected them to be together when he asked her to rule with him in the throne room, and now he knows that status/power isn't enough to tempt Rey. She wanted to see the real Ben Solo come out of him and respond to her.

The first time he offered to teach her. The second time, he offered her himself, but more like a Kylo Ren with all the power. The third time (I really hope there is one ), he will offer her himself as Ben Solo, just him. And since it would be the third time, she should say yes. Because, you know, the rule of three
