Adam is really thoughtful and deep when analyzing Kylo's motives. It's all his inner turmoil of being Ben Solo and wanting to return to him but fighting against it.

He is teary-eyed and his lips are slightly quivering. Perfect representation of a conflicted, vulnerable personality like Kylo/Ben

Also, he is creeping up to her as if he is unsure whether Rey wants him to be physically distant from her. It's heartbreaking.
