I read somewhere that they formed a think tank to figure out how to tell the story and explain her absence...I hope they come up with something good.

I don't know why, but I have faith in the writers. They'll go there (regarding Reylo).

I mean Disney hasn't always been light and cuddly. I remember watching a Disney series as a kid called 'So Weird' and that show could get incredibly dark. I think it's safe to say that if Disney wants to go down the Reylo route, they will.

I definitely think Disney has the balls to go for a darker couple, it's just a matter of whether that was their plan all along or not, because I don't think they would change the plot because of Reylo's popularity if they weren't planning it in the first place So I'm torn as to our chances.

The duel scene was shot so beautifully.

I'll be honest and say it's my favorite duel of the saga, even over both Luke/Vader duels, which are tops in the franchise IMO.

In terms of emotional impact I think Luke/Vader in ESB is at the top for me, but I agree that the TFA duel is one of my favorites. The emotional weight for me of just having lost Han adds something to it, and it really draws me to Kylo seeing how just...not successful he was in his quest to get rid of the light. And also how he is very obviously not out to kill Rey.

I agree on the emotional impact with Luke/Vader. I think for me personally, I was just more invested in Han and Leia in the OT, Luke to a lesser extent. I used to be a lot more interested in Vader though, pre-prequel completion and how I ended up feeling about Anakin.

With TFA, I'm actually most invested in Rey and Kylo, so the duel was more engaging for me because of my investment in the characters.

I feel like a terrible feminist () but I think Kylo is the character of most interest to me. Rey...I'm somewhat into but find her most interesting when she's interacting with Kylo.

As for the rest, I felt both Han and Leia were...off. And while I enjoy Finn, I think it's really down to John Boyega's natural charm that the character is interesting. On paper he's pretty bland (which I've found out in trying to read the TFA novelization.)
