Yeah, I read the Black Fleet books before Shadows, so at least one element of squick in Tyrant's Test was a complete surprise.
Spoiler:
The Fallanassi do show up again in FOTJ.

I started Before the Storm, but haven't gotten very far yet.

I bet there's a huge market for them.
The only squick about that is they're all metal. Ouch. And they have AI, so it would be more like owning a prostitute. Then again, the droids are programmed, so maybe not. There's a moral debate for you. People own blow-up dolls. And sex toys. How different would a sex droid really be? I wonder if SW has droid rights organizations. __________________

It does sound like fun. I'd read it.

Seems like a really interesting topic. Only they never got around to writing them.

It would be a hard story to write, I think. You'd need almost all new characters (unless it was A/U).

The droids' rights debate is brought up in the ANH novelization.

Really? How interesting. I need to read that. Did they handle it well?

I do remember droid rights mentioned in another EU novel.... I know it involved Han and it might have been and NJO novel. Speaking of which, Final Prophecy is really good. |

It's just mentioned briefly that Luke figures it's not the time to debate the issue of droid rights, when he's told the droids have to stay outside the cantina.
