well.. in my opinion it depends on the storyline.. if it would be neccessary to let her appear, they will for sure find a way to do so with the possibilities of nowadays technology... but if it isn't then they sure won't spend money on it...

Well Tar posted an article recently indicating they're saying they're not going to have her in Episode 9 after all.

I think they're not going to do that. The question remaining is whether they'll show her in Episode 9 with unused footage. The latest they're saying is they won't.

My curioisity has been kind of worn out. I was curious last spring. Now I don't care.

I think Leia's main goal in this story is (or was ) to be a mother figure to Rey and a part of Kylo's redemption. I have no idea how they're gonna deal with that in the final episode of the trilogy. I don't want them to use cut footage just for the hell of it, it has to make sense and be in context with the storyline. I'd rather they use her voice like they did with Alec Guiness in TFA, constructing sentences with things that were already said by her. It'd be more of a matter of how to explain her absence. Unless, like I said, they manage to cut her scenes in a way that makes sense.

Leia is going to probably be the biggest regret to come of this trilogy for me - as I was really hoping that with Kylo being her son and having fallen to the dark side, that she would be more front and center at least in one film over Han and Luke, and her feelings over being Darth Vader's daughter and having a force sensitive son would be at least touched on - the former having NOT been touched on in ROTJ.

That's one of the reasons I'm less a fan of ROTJ - GL making Leia the "other" to wrap up the storyline and the character not even being allowed to deal with that discovery - it was all about Luke's feelings.

The best I can hope for now is she has a good sized role in VIII. And frankly, I care less about her reunion with Luke than I do with her getting a good scene with her son. I hope for both, but I would choose the latter over the former if I had to make a choice.

ROTJ is my second favorite SW movie but I agree exploring her side of the story more would've been great.

I think a Leia/Kylo scene is already a given (if they had the chance to shoot it ) and a Luke/Leia scene is more of a hope. For some reason I have a feeling we'll only see Luke interact with Rey, Kylo and Snoke, but I hope I'm wrong.

And I'm still hoping for a flashback with the trio.

ROTJ is a great film. It's true it's Luke-centric and Han and Leia (the best two characters in Star Wars) are sidelined a bit, but they both get to do some great stuff anyway and have their relationship confirmed.
