I loved that scene so much. The animation of their faces was beautiful. Even in animation they look in love.

Is Padme pregnant in that scene?

Yes. We the audience know, but she does not tell Anakin.
I think she knows if she told him then he would come running home. |

I'm a little surprised that he doesn't realize that she has a slight tummy

Yea, though sometimes I think he has a one track mind.
Like, when he picked her up, didn't he notice she was heavier? Or did he think that was all the layers of clothing she was wearing? IDK. In the scene he was really concerned about his mission and really, he only ever looked at her face. |

I think most men do have a one track mind I always thought those with the force were intuitive so how can he not know that she is pregnant?

Yes, but Jedi are not perfect and the dark side can cloud their judgement.
But also, the people making TCW had to write the story so that it would fit with the movie, but at the same time tell us the audience (who know the outcomes) where the characters are in the timeline. Originally that scene with the call with Padmé didn't exist. The way the episode was written originally was that Anakin saw a pin up painting of Padmé on ship for The Bad Batch. He got annoyed and wanted it taken down. When The Clone Wars was saved, but only for 12 episodes, Dave Filoni realized there were no scenes with Padmé at all. And he couldn't do that to her character, nor the voice actress Catherine Taber. So they wrote that scene with the video call. It makes me wonder if they had not been cancelled in the first place or if they got a full season of 22 episodes, what they really had planned for Padmé. |

Ah ok, it makes sense if they were trying to fit the storyline to the films. Did they ever have Padme centric episodes in the series or was it mainly centered on Anakin's time with the Jedi?

There were Padmé episodes. They were really good at balancing the story arcs. There were battlefield episodes and Senate centric episodes. And episodes for Jedi, droids, regular citizens, the clone troopers. It was really well done.

Sounds very diverse which is great, especially since it gives the audience an opportunity to see a glimpse in to the lives of the characters.

Yes. And all sides of the war. How it affects people and how people in power effect the war.

Well, I only started watching TCW because of them and as such it was a disappointment to me.
