It wouldn't even classify them as "insane," because that would erase their responsibility for speaking like that. They're mean bullies. They enjoy making people upset.

An adorable pic of Kelly squeezing a box with John's jacket Totally harmless and yet she gets the same nasty treatment as your average innocent shipper would.


When you re-watch panels and interviews, it's easy to see how happy Kelly was to be cast in this franchise. People trying to rain on her parade are pathetic.

It doesn't matter for people if their harrassing viewers and shippers or creators and actors. Both is totally pathetic and embarrassing btw, even if they are harrassing "just" other fans, it's totally unacceptable.




Out of all the actors casted in the ST, I feel like Kelly is just one us. A huge SW fan, who got pulled in to that world and now is living her best life, unfortunately some fans are ruining it for her

I'm actually really embarrassed to be part of a fandom in which people behave and think in such an extremely negative way. I'd already had enough with the TLJ backlash, but seeing Kelly (and Adam, for that matter) being criticized for their looks or for playing characters people choose not to like, is just making it so much worse.


Agreed, T I always noticed how down-to-earth Kelly was and she spoke of her genuine excitement in the TLJ panel about being cast in a franchise that she has grown up admiring. It hurts me to see her seemingly intimidated by bullies. I see enough of that from antis towards innocents on a daily basis.

People have a right not to like a character or a pairing, even we don't understand their reasons for it sometimes, but like you said, taking it down on actual actors, who are just playing a role is just wrong and I'm embarrassed too


I just wish these people stopped to think for a while about what they're doing But I'm not sure they the brain cells for it.

It creeps me out when actors get fully associated with a character rather than their own personas.


I remember Daniel Radcliffe became extremely negative about Harry Potter for a while after it finished, because he was sick of getting stereotyped as that character, being seen as a young boy for the rest of his life, when he was trying to move on to adulthood and do more mature roles... I think it sucks that actors who initially begin these roles are really excited about it because they were fans before being cast, eventually they end up becoming negative about it themselves because of extreme fandoms acting pathetic.

Yeah, it's really creepy. I heard small children screaming "Kylo Ren" at Adam when they met him and I can get that, but when adults do that, honestly I feel like these people have some serious mental issues, when they have problems to differ reality from fiction. One thing that has always creeped me out, were people who desperately wanted to people who play their favourite couple to date in real life

That video of the kids calling Adam "Kylo Ren" was absolutely adorable and they were giving him so much support that I feel he was probably very honored I know he doesn't like Kylo being seen as a villain, and it's lovely to see people appreciating his work.


But yes, I think we've gotten to the point where we need to completely block out all the hate that's generally directed towards SW since TFA came out. I don't see the hate comments being justified in any way. When they're attacking Kelly on her personal account just because Rose kissed Finn, or making her feel that her acting wasn't good enough... It's just awful. You can't justify that type of behavior.

And I think that Kelly definitely did try to block it all out, but unfortunately it's much harder when the hate is directed right at her and she's not even only the first person who left, Daisy did that a long time ago.

I hope Kelly tells JJ how bad social media has been, and that he talks about it in conventions when they're promoting IX. We can't let antis think it's acceptable to treat people that way

Some of them have spoken about it on social media already. Not sure if it's good though, as much as I hate to say it, these people are also "fans" of the franchise and will come back for IX or other projects, so maybe it's not very wise to alienate them even more, they deserve it though. But I think that the best would be not to respond them all, just completely ignore them and show them how irrelevant they are, because when people react to them, it gives them a sense of relevancy and they think they're right.
