Perhaps....once, there's more solid information going on....we should probably just close out the previous thread...there wasn't anything of real import on there that hasn't been said here.

So, to keep on topic, is there a real chance of a Star Trek like Star Wars TV series?? With the 'Academy' instead of the 'Federation' ?

Supposedly the contracts are in place...fall 2006 debut for the pilot.
The subject of the pilot is what's up in the air. __________________

Naw...george has more than enough $$$ rolling in from marketing and rights sales to not care. As long as it keeps toys moving off the shelves, he's good with it.

I think a SW series could be a hit show, but keep in mind...the network that pairs up with Lucas has to be willing to promote it, give it a good chance of doing well in the ratings...and support it most of all. Believe in the product you're selling to the public. So what network would be a good choice to have a SW TV series on?

Unfortunately, though, Fox will get first crack at it....since they've distributed all the movies.

The only show FOX has been good to is the Simpsons
 ...and the X-Files. Even 24 which is their best show has been moved around Alex __________________

Are any of the networks known for giving a show a decent chance to build an audience these days? It seems if a show doesn't get the numbers they're hoping for instantly, they just pull the plug.
Kevin Smith was on Degrassi last night. He referred to himself as 'a big Star Wars geek'  __________________

I think that any Star Wars series will achieve good ratings for the debut...if it's good, then it will keep them.
