Hi, Rogue Jedi and welcome to the board.

If you'd like to talk about Episode 3 spoilers, we've got a thread here, or if you want to speculate about the movie (with no spoilers) go here.

I agree. There is no doubt that Lucas's intentions were good, I just think that if he had made the story simpler it would have been better. There was no need for midiclorians, Qui-Gon (Why make him the most important character only to kill him off? Obi-Wan had always been Anakins mentor) and quite so much politics.

I didn't like the midi-chlorians either.

The political machinations would have been more interesting with more background. What's the history behind this universe? Why are some people so opposed to the existence of a military?

The original trilogy was made stronger by hints and references to the universe of the prequels. The prequels themselves lack this sort of background.

I agree completely with you on those things. A lot of time in the prequels have been spent on things that shouldn't have been so complicated.

Yeah, we just want cool lightsaber duels and space battles.

I'm kidding, of course. Another thing I didn't like about TPM was the Droid Army. They didn't come close to the Stormtroopers. It seemed strange, because they were going back in time, but the enemy seemed to be more advanced in using machine not man.

Do you mean, about how they changed him from a muppet to CGI (for the most part)?

If you do, I agree. He moved too much, it was to the point where it got distracting. I know they wanted the fight scene between he and Dooku, but I ended up just laughing.

Yeah, the muppet Yoda was definitely the best! One of my friends goes as far as to say the new Yoda looks "evil." But she's just odd.

The problem is, GL loves him, so we won't see his death IMO.
