I don't think they're bringing her back, I think it was more of an evolutionary arch for Elijah, but it really doesn't work because it just means he'll be miserable forever. Unless he dies and they meet in the afterlife like they did with Stefan and Damon in the TVD finale.

Had a bad start to July, so wasn't able to watch 5x09 and last 3 days have been busy with appointments|errands, so thinking 2 episodes on a day not running around
