The key difference = constant conflict within Kylo  even now, when he has full power, we know he's not satisfied because he's missing the person who he really wanted by his side. The person who he BEGGED to rule with him.He would never have begged Rey, if it was really about having complete power. He wants her more than he wants this title Supreme Leader. It felt so surreal to see Kylo actually commanding the army, knowing that he doesn't have to report back to Snoke anymore.  __________________

Well, his ruling the galaxy speech was a perfect parallel to Anakin's. They both were disappointed in the past and in the people in it and they genuinely believe that they can change that buy being in charge. He is still folowing his grandfather's footsteps. With the difference that Anakin never actually got to rule the galaxy, because he listened to Palpatine the whole time. Kylo believes he's meant to rule the galaxy like his gradfather wanted and finish what he started. __________________

Let's just hope he won't carry on with the Skywalker tradition of losing a hand or arm or another member! Poor guy has suffered enough in his life.
