Theory 1 maybe is not true because Lucas himself stated that Anakin is the chosen one.

Yeah, well, theory 1 is sort of the "idiot theory" that anyone can come up with after hearing this talk about prophecy.

Theory 3 sounds good.

Theory 2 - Sure in the EU the Sith go on. But canon wise, which most people follow, the Sith were destroyed. I can see that one being the most popular.

Out of those three, I'm a fan of Theory 3.

However, I'm a strong believer that Anakin was the chosen one because he brought true balance, neither light nor dark could overpower the other. Two Jedi and two equally matched Sith.

i'm a fan of theory 2. I'm not a fan of Anakin having to kill the Jedi.

As much as I like the EU, it makes things so conflicting.
If you follow the EU, more than just Yoda and Obi-Wan surviving.

Or do you mean by 'equally match' that Yoda and Obi-Wan were the only ones strong enough to face the Sith and live to tell...?

Believe me, the number of "children of Jedi" in the EU is enough of a problem. Lucasfilm does have control over the EU. Deaths have to be approved by Lucasfilm, even for characters like Boba Fett and Palpatine that are, in the movies at least, dead. Marriages also have to be approved, as does anything related to the Skywalker genealogy. There are a few other continuity notes, so (for instance) there can be no more Wookiee Jedi, and there are, not surprisingly, no droid Jedi. (Well, almost never. NJO does introduce a droid interfaced with a silicon-based lifeform who can use the Force.)

Why no more Wookiee Jedi?

I have yet to come across him.

The whole children of the Jedi thing is so annoying conflicting. I have to interpret it as lost Padawans or Jedi who escaped and had families after the Purge.

In Young Jedi Knights, there's a comment that a Force-sensitive Wookiee is born every 200 years. Which isn't that long, given Wookiee life expectancies. (Chewie's over 200 years old.) But still...They're definitely not Yoda's species in terms of Force-sensitivity. (Every canon member of Yoda's species that I'm aware of is Force-sensitive. Of course, the only two I'm aware of are Yoda and Yaddle, so...)

Her. Her name's Luxum, and there's an article about her on Wookieepedia. Her original master was a Jedi, but he was excommunicated for teaching inorganics about the Force. (Most of my EU knowledge comes from Wookieepedia or the Star Wars databank.)

Always a possibility, this is. But it doesn't explain Kyle Katarn or Corran Horn, who are grandchildren of Jedi. We can assume Katarn and Horn's grandfathers (I would like at least one "child of the Jedi" to have a Jedi mother or grandmother.)

Same here. They are a rare species I suppose.

The think about EU though is it is always contradicting itself. So even if one series says it, another can forget all about it. The Wookiee Jedi one seems to be one they followed. I only know of...Lowbacca from NJO.

Yea, Corran's grandfather made an appearance in a Clone Wars novel and he tells Anakin that he too is secretly married and has a son.

Well, in biology, age of sexual maturity, gestation period, and relative number of offspring tend to correlate heavily with maximum lifespan. Population stress, thus, paradoxically favors a long lifespan. So if Yoda died at around 900, he probably was in his 100's when he became an adult.

But sentient species can adapt as well, producing a variety of various sexual taboos to adjust to population stresses, the logical extremes, IIRC, being the Catholic Church and the Dani in New Guinea.

Lucasfilm makes it required, because in one of the YJK young adult series, there's a mention that Force sensitivity varies by species. Obviously, humans have a lot of Force-sensitives, and Hutts and Toydarians are (in G-level canon) less sensitive to its effects, hence both Jabba and Watto making reference to how mind tricks don't work on them.

A lot of EU authors are using the PT era as prequels to the novels, it seems.

Well according to the EU Vader and Sidious aren't the only Sith either, so... my statement still stands.
